Billy Lange might get let go too potentially if they don't do well the rest of the way. Erik Reynolds would solve a lot of issues this team currently has
I’d cry tears of joy if he came here, but he’s probably transferring up he’s looking like A10 rookie of the year front runner.

Would be surprised if P5s aren’t already in his ear, but if he’s looking to get back to the DMV he could do worse than Mason.

Reynolds and Dinkins seem like the type of guards who can be effective on and off the ball and would fit perfectly together. Sign me up yesterday.

Buchanan just posted a video of the Virginia Tech students chanting “We want Darren” at the game and my heart sunk a little bit.

They really do want him and they’re probably gonna get him.

I’d rather land at least one, if not two forwards from the portal. We need a veteran ready to fill Schwartz’s spot, not a raw freshman.

Certainly not saying I wouldn’t be glad if he picks Mason. Buchanan has a ton of upside.

But the reality is Kim could re-stock the roster this offseason just with guys from the DMV who will be in the portal — this is the first time we’ve been able to say that under the new transfer rules.

We don’t have to rely on developing freshmen anymore.

Very well may happen. After our game with SJU, I (and just about everyone there) heard a fan scream, "You suck, Billy!" That sentiment is not limited to a couple malcontents. I'd say most of the SJU fanbase has had it with him: https://247sports.com/college/saint-josephs/board/105444/Contents/billy-lange-182982462/?page=1

Would love to have Reynolds, but as others have speculated, seems he's more likely to move up (a la Kolek).

Buchanan will announce Saturday at 3:00. All signs point to Virginia Tech. Can’t win ‘em all.

Vt and gw play at 2pm. We play at 4, gtown at 7, Rutgers?? who would wanna play there. Just saying it's kinda odd to announce while your school is playing. Ok I'm reaching here.

Could be announcing at halftime of VT/GW. I could see some appeal in that. We could really use him though.

This can be moved to a different thread if needed.

Why would Newton transfer laterally? The AAC is viewed as equal or slightly above the A10. With that stat line, he would draw interest from ACC/SEC/Big12 schools. I'd be thrilled to have him, but it seems unrealistic at best.

To me, the allure of hiring a coach like Kim is being able to land recruits and transfers who ordinarily would be out of our league.

We should start thinking that way; if we’re just gonna add a guy who’s a slight upgrade over what we’ve got, with no idea if he’d mesh well with our returning core, I don’t see the point.

I don’t think KE is going anywhere, Im just interested in who we are going to bring in that’s better than a starting SEC point guard with 1500+ career points.

Yeah...but Appleby is kind of a douchenozzle. He can def. play, but worry about the locker room presence.

Moved to the 2022 recruiting thread :)

I get what you are saying. That said I think thats the type of quality prospect we do need to start considering to really upgrade certain positions. I would gladly take Appleby or Newton, but from a pure stat perspective (and I haven't watched footage), I'd want the guy with better stats. I'm going to have to find time to watch footage to see who I like better.

Not saying either is going to happen, purely spitballing. I would hope that the idea is to try and go for a grand slam upgrade at PG especially with what we have returning. Of course this is also dependent on if Polite decides to come back and XJ.
