Hate this. It's one game. Act like it's business as usual.
This kind of sucks donkey balls but hey, if it gets casuals to wear something we're not in a position to turn down people buying Mason Basketball stuff. My gf went to Mason and had never been to a game as she went to school purely in the Hewitt/DP era's. Her first game was the other day @ Maryland and she loved it and wants the shirt. Would I wear one? No. But if it gets casuals like her to wear it then no press is bad press.

Thankfully as crazy as the a10 has been out of conference, we still don’t know if Maryland completely sucks or if they are just playing their typical lazy way for out of conference games. Hopefully Maryland will be half decent.

They’ve got some tough games coming up. We will know fairly soon how good they are going to be.

Pretty wild that Turgeon is gone mid year. Not what any of us thought. Super lucrative job, facilities, great conference, hotbed of talent in Baltimore/DC.

I can't think of any candidates for them off the top of my head. Juan Dixon is probably still too raw.

Maryland grad Duane Simpkins will be a good head coach one day, but he likely needs to get a head job at a smaller school like Dixon before heading back home.

Yeah I can't see them taking him without him getting his feet wet. Dixon doesn't look like hes had too much success quite yet so hes a no.

Maybe Mark Schmidt, Mike Lonergan, Mike Brey. Someone on twitter said Kevin Williard

As much as I like Duane Simpkins, there is no way Maryland hires a mid major assistant with no head coaching experience. Doesn't mean he can't coach but I'd put it at 0% chance he is even considered for head coach. Assistant coach would be a different story though...

I think Lonegran was blasting Maryland from Twitter the other night.

Lonergan and Simpkins don't even get phone calls, guys. Maryland has the resources and natural advantages (location) to be a major player on the national stage. They ain't going dumpster diving.

Holy hell -- didn't think this would be happening before ACC tournament time. And the fact that they "mutually agreed", that's wild. Wonder if this is about more than wins and losses.

All depends on how you define "dumpster." I've been to College Park...I'm not sure they know what that is.

Hes a personality to say the least. But the guy can absolutely coach. That said, I don't think they are going to go with a rebirth project.

I was thinking Mike Brey for them off the top of my head. They are obviously going to go for a big fish. Who do you think they would go after just for fun?

I'm gonna die laughing when they announce Pitino as their head coach immediately after they are eliminated.

Not an expert on coaching changes beyond sniff testing names that don't make sense, but everything I'm reading makes it seem like Kevin Willard is a slam dunk fit. Not yet 50, doing a great job at Seton Hall, and Maryland can pay more and provide him with a much better chance to win titles.

Yeah that seems like a potential fit at least off the initial thoughts going around. I'm no expert either but its fun to at least throw names around whether they are .000001% realistic or not.
