Terrell Brown Jr is the one that Mason really needs to cover. He scores a lot more than everyone else and is not a high percentage scorer, but he is a high volume scorer. He has 31 more field goal attempts than Matthews. It doesn't appear he is a threat from deep as he only is 1/8 from three. I haven't dug into other opponents but it looks like Mason will be the toughest opponent U of Wash has faced this year to date.

Mason got 1 top 25 vote in the latest AP poll. Going to guess that is John Feinstein rewarding Mason for beating UMD, but still when was the last time we even got one?

According to ESPN, at the moment, Mason is giving 4.5 tonight. Seems fair. I'm not a sports better but, if I was, I wouldn't be betting on this one. I think this game will be a pretty good indicator of who we are. Whoever that is, it's a hell of a lot more fun to watch than the last few years.

Some gameday links I found and wanted to share:

UW fans insist they would have beaten Mason if.....if.
Who has the Final Four banner? Right. Mason.

If this team is as good as advertised, we go 3-0. If we go 1-2 then I wil dial back my expectations to a Top 6 A10 finish, which will be a Big Step Forward for the program, and a feather in KE's hat.

Based on what I have seen...3-0 is likely. At that point, we get votes, do we not?
Three games in three days makes 3-0 unlikely for literally every team in the tourney. Obviously someone will end up doing it, but I wouldn’t bet on going 3-0 even if we were the clear favorite coming in.

That’s really interesting. I thought Kenpom was all math. Thought every team started at zero. Thanks for the insight.
I believe KenPom's system does pre-season rankings based on the roster. Only players with D1 experience (and certain impact freshmen - maybe like the top 25?) are factored in. It's like a video game ranking of your team based on the ratings of the players on the roster. Or something like that.

I like that this vote comes after our unfortunate loss to Madison.

They were still going to have to beat that team on what was essentially a home court at that point. It wouldn’t have been easy (as UConn can attest).

It isn't a true tournament where the victors of each round play the victors of the previous round. It is a round robin where each team plays each other once, regardless. So, it is, theoretically, possible that no team goes undefeated.
