I saw that quote as well and initially I was just dumbfounded. It is definitely a telling comment if his natural coaching instincts are being restricted on the bench. Maybe being the lowly and new D.B.Ops, he feels like he cannot do what he wants just yet.

Usually a new coach brings in a whole new staff (outside of strength coach, nutrition, etc.) Lombardi staying after Larranaga left was the exception.
