vcu: total resident student fees: $2,979 (athletics $929) = 31%

Non-residents have an addition 690 capital outlay fee so they pay 25% of their fees to athletics.

Overall difference of $118 a year between Mason and vcu.

It’s also slightly misleading in that EBA operations and maintenance comes out of the auxiliary bucket and we don’t know how much that is.
Well hot dang it....lookie lookie! up them fees! Students don't want to come to games? Charge em double!

I’m a word guy, but by my math $118 multiplied by ~40,000 students equals $4.7 million.

Think that might help the basketball programs with recruitment and retention?

And not a single soul would ever decide not to matriculate at Mason because of $118, which is a rounding error on the insane cost of higher education today.

An absolute no-brainer.

Virginia Tech raised their fees and their students aren’t even guaranteed admission to all athletic events like we are, not sure why we are so against it.

makes no sense. so much to gain having a major bball program in the dance consistently. And getting great ooc home games eventually.

They’re in the ACC and their basketball team has more history. Not a fair comparison imo.

We should get Mason alum and Emmy winner Rhea Seehorn to donate to the university. If she can survive on Pluribus, she can surely find some money for her alma mater.

I have to say, I absolutely love the whole NOVA's Team branding

I love the idea, and I hope this is like a big long-term push
Me too! I think we have a real opportunity to define what it means to be from NOVA and build some pride around that identity.

To me, Northern Virginia is a launchpad. People come here from all over the world to start a new life, build a career, and become something more. I’d love to see us really lean into that.
