FYI. The 11:40 mark in the interview is when Tony really starts to talk about the team and style/tempo for this year. His comments about NIL at about the 18 minute mark I found to be interesting. Great interview overall.

I noticed he didn't mention Jalen Haynes or Woody Newton. still waiting on those waivers I guess.

Probably should just assume they are sitting out next season at this point. NCAA is trying to draw a line in the sand (see: football transfers this season).

I’m fine with it, to be honest, will just mean getting those two for an extra year (Haynes and Newton will be seniors with Dinkins and Hall with Ball and Okojie as juniors if they sit out…not a bad place to be in a few years).

Woody only has 1 year of eligibility left … if he doesn’t get a waiver I would be surprised if he sticks around to sit out an entire season.

Malik will maybe get more playing time with Haynes not eligible. I think Malik will have an AJ like breakout year if provided the opportunity

You are absolutely right.

Don’t get me wrong, would much rather have Tony Skinn be able to select from 13 players than 11. A few key injuries and the bench starts to look mighty thin mighty fast.

But I can live with Haynes and Newton having to sit this season since it should pay dividends next year (especially if Polite and Malik stay for their COVID seasons) and the year after.

What was talked about at the Coaches mix and mingle in Maryland earlier this week?
It was just an event for local HS and AAU coaches to come hang out with the coaching staff. Apparently none have gone to any Mason games for the past decade. Staff really concentrating on getting DMV players again. TS gave a presentation on Masons facilities and current roaster then held a Q&A. Most of the questions were about his style of play and what type of players they are looking for.

Tony gets it. We are most definitely in good hands.
