Currently 2 - 7 in the A10 and 7 - 14 overall with 9 games left. If we go 2 - 7, which is being generous, we would finish 4 - 14 in the league and 9 - 21 overall. A first round loss in the tourney closes out the season at 9 - 22 which would be futility surpassed only once in our history. The 1968 - 1969 team finished 4 - 23. Come on Paul, you can do this! Go 1 - 8 over the final nine and you will truly be the poster child for incompetence. Going 0 - 9 with a loss in the tourney would make you immortal in the minds of Patriot fans with 24 losses. Come on Paul, reach for the stars baby, go 0 - 9 with a loss in the first round. I believe in you!

The 1968-69 team was actually 2-20, including a 134-60 loss to Little Creek Navy.

From the George Mason Men's Basketball Record Book:

"1968-69 (2-20) Coach: Raymond Spuhler

1/25 Little Creek Navy L 60-134"

Do you think they convinced him to give up basketball coaching by promising to name the baseball field after him?
