I know it would have to be an extremely cold day in hell for this to happen, but... I'd rather buy a ticket to see us lose to Kansas, than to beat the pants off of a D-II/D-III team.

What I'm saying is, get the best opponents that you can. Play them as hard as you can. Let the rest sort itself out.
I agree - we played Kansas 3 years ago and only lost by 9 to the eventual National Champs.

I don't disagree with the sentiment, but the issue is in the first sentence of you second paragraph.

"What I'm saying is, get the best opponents that you can."

Maybe we just can't get the opportunities / opponents that will help us. I'm sure CTS is working to get us the best games he can to showcase GMU and give us opportunities to dance. But we can't play teams that won't schedule us.

I'll do my part. I'll buy and go to games no matter the opponent as my school love is GMU and not the opponent we play. Do I want to play the higher profile schools to help us? Absolutely! And I'm not trying to be a complete apologist for a less than stellar schedule, but I can only control my part, which means showing up.

I know they do girl scout troops for WBB.

Have they considered Boy Scout troop outreach perhaps during the winter break when students are off campus to help get some cheering voices in the arena?

Yes they do this. We have boy scout groups at multiple games every season

Maybe beating a MEAC school by 20 is technically better for the metrics vs a Q1 road loss, but we cant get Q1 wins without Q1 opportunities, and we cant get an at large without Q1 wins.
The thing is, it's not. You have to beat the typical MEAC team by 30-40 or you get penalized. Part of our problem, as was mentioned previously, is that we don't blow out enough bad teams. If you're going to schedule NET 300+ teams, you can do that, but you have to annihilate them. That's what the P4 does.

I'd love a journalist to ask the A10 commissioner if the Mountain West-A10 challenge will ever be revisited.

Was it travel costs? scheduling?
It's worth seeing if it can be brought back from the dead because the Big East would never do that. They play the football schools.

All the best teams in the Mountain West just joined the PAC. If we are going to find a scheduling partner for a challenge we should be talking to them.

Call it Atlantic vs. Pacific or if we want to go hip hop old school reference East Coast vs. West Coast.

The problem is I seriously doubt you’d convince Gonzaga, SDSt, Washington State or Oregon State that they’re a mid-major conference and to schedule an A10 team every year.

Saw somewhere that Siena has a Torvik of 166 and ODU 175. Not 100% sure what Torvik measures, but doesn't this indicate Siena and ODU should be improved? Siena returns 4 of 5 top scorers and I read they may be #2 in the MAAC this year behind Iona.
