Although not posted yet Homecoming is likely to be Saturday, February 7th against St. Joe's. Could also be Saturday the 28th against St. Bonaventure.

The first home game against Wofford is big too. Gotta start the season off right

There will be a one month out post solely for Wofford!! I will add Winthrop in, nice that it's a Friday game.

Um…all of the home games.

But if you must parse them out. These. Plus homecoming (we won’t know just yet but my guess is St. Joes on 2/7 [my phone wants to call them St. Hoes…] and also obviously the home opener against Wofford (if it happens).

From my personal - strictly analytical - Non GMU alumni - college basketball fan who will attend GMU, GWU, Howard, Morgan, Coppin - both men and women games plus vcu home games plus Stanford at Virginia (instead of vcu @ GMU)

Now I completely understand why we have so meany "weak" teams on the schedule, but as a fan of the game, I am unwilling to pay for them

1 must see
2 will include in my partial season ticket selection
3 not worth full price - looking for $10 or less tickets - depends upon what else I am doing that day
4 looking for $5 tickets - with the exception of Penn. as I am an alumni- depends upon what else I am doing that day

Alfred is a preseason scrimmage. Nothing important there, just something to get the guys prepping for live game play. Catawba is sadly the non-D1 game that many many mid majors are having to put on our schedule.

I’m also curious to see if the flashes we saw from Sivka turn into someone who can contribute on the regular or if he’s going to be the next Jones (that’s my deep roster cut).

Hill will probably be the most exciting to watch, but the most important player to watch will probably be Troutman. The team is going to need some knockdown 3pt shooters, and the only place I see that coming from in any volume is Troutman or Mincy (if he gets enough playing time).

More seriously, BOC became a pretty good shooter later in the season too. He might be a third option.

Jahari Long also has some decent shooting numbers (not at a high volume). I’m curious what a drop in level might do for him.

Edit: anyway. That’s four players (Mincy, Troutman, O’Connor, Long) who all might shoot better than 35% from 3 at decent volume (just looked it up, Long shot 62 3s his last season playing for UMD). And then you’ve got Allensbach and Sivka who might be dangerously from the 4 and 5 position (maybe as off the bench) to stretch the defense for guys like Adebayo and Hill to get to work.

I actually think our offense will be smoother this year than last year

Did I remember this correctly?
Individual game and partial season tix went on sale the Friday before the Saturday Open practice?
I don't remember if all game times were set by then.

But realistically the weekday games will start between 6 pm and 9 pm.
(I remember a recent Georgetown game start at 9:30 pm as part of a mid-week doubleheader.)

while Saturday games will start between 12 pm and 9 pm,
and Sunday games between 12 pm and 6 pm

Personally, I don’t think Sivka will get enough minutes to really belong in this conversation. Maybe Brayden puts up more volume, but that will be hard to do if he is facilitating the offense. Not sure what to expect after the year off for Long.

I agree with you that we’ve got a few guys that could end up shooting 35%+. I still think the majority of those shots will be taken by Troutman & Mincy (if he gets enough playing time). To me, that makes them the most important to watch at the start of the season.

Mincy will be facilitating the offense. I like Tony’s system because it allows for the ball to move freely among all five players, but he’ll be PG1 and BOC will be playing mostly off the ball where he can use his athleticism and shooting to greatest effect.

Also expect to see a lot more atracking the rim and way fewer tough 2-point shots — Hill is a ruthless slasher and BOC and Mincy can both drive it effectively as well.
