The good: Mason fans that continue to show up and root for the team. Many good times at Brion's and today at Fado/RFD/and at the Verizon Center. The fans deserve better than we are giving.

The bad: The weather today......

The ugly: The 2013/2014 men's basketball team. It's time for everyone to admit, this team just isn't that good. We are limited everywhere from the coaches on down. I hoped for a .500 season but that appears to be unrealistic at this point. I will continue to go every home game this year and cheer my a** off but having lived through the Nestor and Westhead years TOC and the admin needs to understand that there is an end to what I am willing to give to GMU. I am always amazed by the people that ask for my alumni dollars, like I owe them something...........I PAID to get my education, I don't OWE you anything after that. Want my dollars? Put a winning program on the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Good: I didn't waste money on tickets to Hawaii or Brooklyn.

The Bad: I have tickets to remaining home games.

The Ugly: It's not even January and all I have to look forward to is next season.

The Good: I like the font for the numbers on the new uniforms a lot.

The Bad: The A-10 tourney play-in game against St. Bonnie is gonna be a bitch.

The Ugly: Mason basketball.

The Reality: This is the exact same team from last year. No real growth or maturing happened over the off season, aside from some individual improvements from Marko. (Un)fortunately, the CAA was terrible enough last season to help mask many of the problems.

In my opinion (which is worth absolutely zero since I am far from an expert when it comes to basketball) Hewitt does not have the pieces he needs to do what he wants to do.

Save for BA and Sherrod, we have no one who can score. Our bigs cannot defend or score or play without fouling. We have no floor general or primary competent ball handler. This team is also not as athletic as some would like to think.

My idea (again, worthless) is to scrap everything over the break and find a new identity in order to grind out some wins in conference play. But I'm afraid the chances of that happening are zero percent.

I'm sorry, but when most of your roster regresses the longer they're working with a specific coach, that's not a talent problem -- it's a coaching problem.

This situation reminds me of when Nestor inherited a 20-win team from Rick Barnes. Nestor won 20 games and took us to the CAA title game in his first season, but slipped to around .500 and then the bottom fell out as Joe Harrington and Barnes' players graduated.

If not for the pay for play CBI games last season, we would've been 18-14 last season despite playing in a God-awful CAA.

We're gonna be worse than that this season. No more cheap-a** 20-win seasons in the A-10.

If AC and TOC can't see a trend emerging, somebody should help them.

I like the FRONT of the uni's, but not the back. The number styles don't match. And I don't like the yellow numbers, with green trim. I'd prefer the other way around (green numbers, gold trim).

I'm not going to comment on what is happening by those who wear said uniforms and those who instruct those in said uniforms. Bad and ugly may be understatements.

Maybe this break will be good for them. Take a few days and get away from basketball.

I think this is off basee by alot. We have players that are capable of scoring outside Sherrod and BA. Also, why is Hewitt not responsible for not bringing in the "pieces he needs" or properly or at least more efficiently utilize the pieces he has?

Cause the man is beat down. Reports were he was lukewarm on taking the job and Mason "sold" him.

He needed time off to digest everything and didnt get it.

Thus....we are where we are....
