Thad Matta just stepped down at Butler. I expect Jamie Kaiser Jr to hit the portal.

He may want to come home to Burke and play for Tony Skinn along with Deshawn Hiarris Smith and Jonathan Lamothe....may be throw in Gregg Jones Jr and the return of Justin Fernandez.

There it is. Jamie Kaiser jr in the portal. Tony bring Lake Braddock's Best Baller since Hubert Davis back to the 22015.

D.Harris and Lamothe are on the team?
Im making a somewhat educated guess that both will be in the portal soon.

DHS took a personal laave absence from Georgetown 6 games into the season. I would not be surprised that he shows up like Jahari Long.

Lamothe left Maryland, went to NC A-T so showcase his skills with more PT, then transferred to UNCW and was out through late January with an injury. He is just rounding into playing shape.

Others I'm interested with established Skinn connections.

justyn Fernandez

After leaving Mason then going to Providence and suffering a knew injury, he finally got his game back at Delaware.. scoring 17 PPG including a going on a tear the last 12 games scoring 20+ ppg and shooting 41% from 3.

Greg Jones jr - 2 time Patriot league defensive team

All these guys played together in AAU or at Maryland 2 years ago. The chemistry is already established.

If we get a couple of them. It will only help the team be a cohesive unit from the jump.

I'd also add offensive scheme. We need desperately to get more innovative on offense. I get Tony is a Defense first guy, but we need more scoring creativity, imo.
That takes more than 2 guards. By end of the season it really was long and someone else or maybe 50% of Kory. Kory's hand is broken and needs surgery so I guess props to him on toughing it out but that was a huge impact.

Perhaps. But when I see opponent players slashing in for a pass to a layup, working the baseline for an easy slam, or a guard serving a delicious pumpkin for an alley-oop... I wonder why we can't do that???

The bench guards just weren’t good enough, and they were inconsistent all season. Tonight really exposed that this team’s depth was not as strong as we thought. At the end of the day, the core was really Long, Kanga, Riley, Mincy, and at times Ellington and Fatt. Then Fatt got hurt, and Kory got hurt. Troutman and Dola were wildly inconsistent, which only made things worse.

The fact that Kory’s hand is so badly damaged that he needs surgery, and he still ended up as the team’s leading scorer for the season, says everything. You saw the price of that tonight. When you have to take Riley off the floor for defensive reasons, the offense takes a huge hit because he is the team’s second scoring option. So tonight it was basically Long or bust, and that just wasn’t enough.

I have no idea of what the GMU NIL Budget (Revenue Share plus Outside NIL) is and how it is allocated. But I'd bet that both Mincy and Allenspach - as the 2 All-League members of this team are getting and fielding offers from other schools. Whether or not they accept is unknown and contingent on a number of factors.

Last Season GMU lost all but 2 players (and the grandfathered walk-ons), at this point I'd bet that the only assured returnees are the 2 grandfathered walk-ons and CTS's son.

No sense in prognosticating. Save the energy for the days when the portal is open and the day it closes.

Haha they needed guards. Same thing..... They couldn't score. Was that a real question? No PG ring a bell? He did go and get a PG however this year's defense wasn't nearly the same. Tony gets it though, Mason will never out recruit Dayton, vcu, St Louis and prob won't even have the money a GW or some others have but he's a horrendous coach. So yeah Tony knows to win you play defense and score enough. The defense just was awful at times this year. So yup......

We lost KD, Billups, Zach, Maddox and Woody to graduation.

Haynes and brick hands (forgot his name) left for more $.

Begg transfered down.

Quig and white chocolate weren't good enough apparently.

Those 5 "Seniors" were legit. 3 of them were 2 year guys in Woody, Billups and Maddox.

Losing 5 to graduation I dont think is kept in perspective.

Thus the need to be innovative. Guys like Zach and Maddox needed to get more shots, imo. This year we have 2 PG's of which Mincy can be the shooter. So why the stagnation tonight vs a much smaller team? Was it coaching?

I would love to see more ball movement via screens, cuts, backdoors, pick and rolls. We do way to much dribbling, passing around the perimeter, then forcing up shots.
Tony, I hope, will work on his offensive strategy going forward.
