6'6 Malik Presley is coming back

I’m probably a bit higher on Malik’s potential than most. No arguing that last season was a disappointment from him, but I think he’s got the physical tools to thrive in Tony’s defense if he can get a bit more assertive on offense. He needs to develop a 3 point jumper that teams have to at least respect so they can’t sag off him and clog the lane. If he does that I still think he could develop into a less athletic Woody Newton for his senior year.

If Hill gets the waiver, I'm ready to roll with what we've got.

If not, I'd love to see a wing who can hit from deep, and maybe one more big who can clog the lane and offer 5 fouls.

I've never made this connection for Malik.

Woody was quite a bit taller, could hit from deep, and play D, making him a sort of perfect 4 for Tony's system, at least as I understand it (maybe another thread for another day).

I tend to think of Malik as a left handed, slightly less athletic Fatt Hill (and to be clear, if EOE is playing 30 minutes per game at the 3, Mailk filling in for 10 minutes per game isn't the worst thing in the world).

It always drove me crazy that Woody basically never closed games. He had 8 threes in a game against St. Louis, but was on the bench for the last ~6-8 minutes (based on my recollection... the box score says he played 26 minutes). It never felt like Tony trusted Woody 100%. Either that, or the goal of playing 9-11 guys deep interfered with Woody's playing time.

Nope ..not done by a long shot...they are looking several bigs(4's and 5's), guards and wings...only 34 percent of the D1 prospects have commit with over 1350 remaining per on3.

As the spring and summer wear on...valuations will decrease and prospects feel the pressure to sign. Its a buyers market now...remember Jahari Long did not sign until August...long way to go

To clarify, as I now understand it, April 30 is the deadline for a team to host official visits. What entirely does that mean? Does it mean that players who have not yet committed are SOL after that date??? I don't have a clue and I have to eat breakfast and shower up.
