OT: The Basketball Tournament

Currently on Kent Island at a weekend wedding event
Last event is today and hope to be at home and in bed by 6 pm

Heading to JMU tomorrow morning to watch The Basketball Tournament
64 teams in 8 regions
Winning team takes home $1
the other 63 teams get $0

Closest regionals are West Virginia and JMU
not sure which is the closest, but there is a New Buc-ees open at the 81 exit to JMU

Round 1 had a massive upset and a marginal upset

Penn State Alumni team was the #1 seed in the region and lost to the #8 seed
(although I would question anyone's ability to rank and seed alumni players)

JMU was the host seed at #4 and lost to the #5 seed

Teams are based on regions or Universities
No NBA players are allowed but pro players in other leagues are allowed

Sam Sessions plays for the Philly Team - Magic Show
Nxt Era Elite is also a Philly team and has a lot of Big 5 players including Jordan Dingle who was Penn's best player, prior to leaving for some NIL cash, a few years ago

Shell Shock is composed of University of Maryland Alumni, including Diamond Stone, Daryll Morsell, and Melo Trimble

TBT 2025 - The Basketball Tournament

TBT will play in exciting regions around the country from July 18th - Aug 3rd. Winner takes home the $1 Million cash prize.

It would be nice to have a DC-based team playing in the tournament, or even a Georgetown team and hosted locally at GW-Smith, EagleBank or American; I believe CapOne and Xfinity are too large and the rest are too small
