• THANK YOU DONORS!!
I'd like to personally thank everyone that participated in our first donor drive in years! We raised over double the amount that we set as a goal. You guys are awesome! This money helps to fuel much needed upgrades around here - and also includes monthly server costs and software licenses. We are excited for the future and your donations ensure that there will be a place to talk about George Mason basketball (among other things) for seasons to come! - The Management

Weird idea I just had that will never happen but would be interesting:

Move basketball to the winter olympics. It's a "winter" sport in most places and takes place 100% inside, so you can really play it whenever. Then in olympic years just do what the NHL does and skip the all star game and give people 3 weeks to go be in the olympics.

I have no other upsides, nor have I thought about this any further. But it certainly would be interesting. I always like how the NHL players take the olympics so seriously...I feel like as the NBA gets more international we could develop a similar feel instead of telling players they need to sacrifice a huge chunk of the offseason to go play.

They could do what men's soccer does and turn it into a U23 tournament. The only reason why that happens in soccer, though, is because FIFA holds all the cards in that situation and clubs don't have to release players for the Olympics in the same way they do for FIFA competition (ahem, World Cup -- also, this is why the U.S. has failed to qualify the last three times, does Chelsea really release Pulisic, or Bayern really release Reyna to go play in Olympic qualifying? Hell no.).

So I'm guessing this would never happen, because the IOC wouldn't want one of their big draws all of a sudden become less of a draw.

Are you shocked? The roster left off way too many NBA All-Stars like Antetokounmpo, Doncic, Jokic, Embiid, Sabonis, Simmons, Siakam, Porzingis, and Gobert.

I don't know what were they thinking!

They also probably don’t play enough games together to institute more than isolation ball either.
