Need a mid summer basketball fix? I suggest you check out the 2023 FIBA World Cup. The US team has been fun to watch in the preliminary games thus far. FYI, US games are on Saturday 8/26 at 8:30 AM (New Zealand), Monday 8/28 at 8:30 AM (Greece), and Wednesday 8/30 at 4:30 AM (Jordan). Knockout rounds to follow. All US games can be seen on ESPN 2. All other tourney games can be seen on ESPN+. Mimosas and basketball? Hell yeah!

Latest update for those who have not been able to watch. US won their group with wins over New Zealand (99-72), Greece (109-81), and Jordan (110-62).

We advanced to Round 2 and opened with a win against Montenegro (85-73), although we got killed on the glass (49-31).

We lost to Lithuania (110-104) this morning. Defense was horrible, giving up 110 points in 40 minutes speaks for itself. Lithuania also came out hot as all get out going 9-9 from 3 to open the game. Like Montenegro, they killed us on the glass (43-27). We trailed by as much as 21 in the first half and just seemed flat. We relied too much on one on one play as NBA players are want to do. Lithuania played as a team and deserved the win.

Despite the loss we advance to the Quarterfinals and will play Italy on Tuesday at 8:30AM. The game will be on ESPN2. Hoping we play well.

Just because we don't comment doesn't mean we're not interested.
Have you been able to watch? With the Philippines 12 hours ahead it hasn't exactly been convenient. On several occasions I've DVR'd and watched later. We play Germany on Friday at 8:40AM in the semis. Game on ESPN2 as always. It would be nice to see us take it all.
