NCAA Tournament heroes of yesterday: Who flamed out?

Jai Lewis was never a pro prospect and after his dream of becoming a TE ended with the Giants trying to turn him into an O-lineman that's all she wrote.

Who disappointed me was Folarin Campbell, he just never developed enough, never achieved that next level. Of the final four team, he had the most potential to crack the NBA.

“You saw one of us, you saw all of us,” he says of the 2006 group that included Jai Lewis, Tony Skinn, Will Thomas, Folarin Campbell and many others. “I felt we made that run because we were so close as a team. We looked out for each other and loved each other, and that showed on the court.”

Not sure this is the case now...:sinus:

Folarin is wildly popular in Italy. He was the only player on that team with NBA potential, which makes their run that much more special. Butler had a very short D-League run but he just wasn't the right size for his position. Story of a "mid-major" recruit's life.

I think it's a shame for Jai to be "honored" in this way. He never had a shot in the NBA, and because of that I don't see him as a flame out.

Biggest disappointment was John Vaughn. He never played professionally and told me in a bar once that it was all due to hiring the wrong agent, then just lost the desire to go overseas as a result.

Especially sweet against UConn, which had six NBA draft picks (Hilton Armstrong, Jeff Adrien, Marcus Williams, Josh Boone, Denham Brown, and Rudy Gay, who was a lottery pick). Gay and Will Thomas played each other throughout their high school careers (both were from Baltimore) and I think Thomas's team won each time.
