Heck yeah University of Portland! Their basketball program isn't very good so it's nice they have 1 really good team sport.

I keep forgetting to go check them out.

The Portland Timbers are there. I wonder how many of their players come from their academy system?

GIVING DAY 2023
This year, maybe 1-2 from what the roster says. Plus they have a Phoenix Rising player.

Also, Pilots have Valeri to help with player development.

I am old enough to remember when the Pilots were a MLB team!!

for the youngins'

I wish the 2nd Seattle team would have re-claimed the Pilots name, cap, ect. It was a good look.

True but Mason is having a good year and they're not far away for a road game. Maybe the place was packed with GMU fans...

"FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team fell to vcu, 2-1, on Wednesday night at George Mason Stadium.

George Mason (5-4-1, 2-1-1 Atlantic 10) took the lead over vcu (4-4-4, 1-1-2 Atlantic 10) in the 24th minute of play.

Off a corner kick, the senior defender Will Carson sent a header toward the net from 10 yards out that was blocked. The Rams goalkeeper came out of the six-yard box but was unable to get control. The ball bounced into the air and graduate student forward Jacobo Sanfeliu sent a header past defenders and into the lower left corner to put the Patriots in front, 1-0.

vcu scored the equalizer in the 64th minute. Freshman Luca Estabio bent a shot into the upper right corner from 28 yards for his first collegiate goal to tie the match, 1-1.

The Patriots hadn't allowed a goal in 297.77 going back to their match against Georgetown on September 23.

After a foul by the Patriots in the penalty area in the 78th minute, vcu graduate student Camilo Comi converted on the ensuing penalty kick for his first goal of the season to vault the Rams into the lead, 2-1."

Very tough loss - instead of maintaining/improving their top 25 ranking and adding to their at large resume with a win over a top 40 vcu team, they lost a 1-0 lead and will now drop out of the top 25, fall closer to the bubble with no more quality win opportunities (unless we play SLU in A10 tournament) and really need to win out.

Loss also puts us outside top 4 in conference with only 7 pts, where a win would have kept us at the top with 10 pts in 4 games.

Very very difficult and untimely loss. Goal now has to be to win next 5 games against mediocre teams, and avoid a loss in the A10 tournament to anyone other than SLU.
