I Miss the Green Team

Remember when Coach Larranaga would replace all of the starters with the green team, bringing an immediate energy boost to the team (and our fans)? In fact, during the 1998-99 CAA championship season, Larranaga started the green team in a victory vs. JMU.

Wouldn't you like to see Coach Hewitt do the same when the starters get off to their usual slow start?

Pretty much everyone on our bench has started at some point so I don't think it would have the same impact.

I miss having 10 competent players to accomplish that. Hell, I'd settle for 5 right now.

If we swapped out five for five it would look pretty heinous. That would mean Edwards, Holloway, Okoloji (because we knew Hewitt isn't going to insert Gray), Jenkins, Copes. I trust two of those five.

I'd like to see a different coach do it, but I guess I am at least 2.5 years away from that...

With sarcasm out of the way, I think it would be much better than the sometimes bizarre rotations that we see out there. As long as it does not include Okoloji (unless we need to take someone out), I think it could work.

Preferred Walk-On
All for the return of the "Green Team." I suspect there is about a 0% chance of this ever happening. I don't think that this years version of the team would be anymore heinous than ones we have had in the past. 4-5 minutes of all out hustle is what we need. Also, having players cheering for each other instead of what appears to be a cut throat continues confrontation for playing time.

No way in hell should we implement a Green Team anytime soon. Our Starters can barely catch a pass, make a layup 50% of the time, and defend their man. We have enough problems with our starting 5 as is.
