Nevada was picked 3rd in the preseason Mountain West Conference poll.

Head coach Steve Alford, of Indiana fame, returns for his third season as Nevada coach. Nevada returns eight players, including Mountain West Newcomer of the Year Grant Sherfield and All-Mountain West shooting guard Desmond Cambridge, Jr.

Nevada is currently 1- 4 on the season.

Wins: Eastern Washington (91-76),
Losses: San Diego (75-68), Santa Clara (96-74), San Francisco (73-70), South Dakota St. (102-75)

DISCLAIMER: THEIR INDIVIDUAL STAT SHEET FOR THE SEASON IS SCREWED UP AS OF THIS POSTING. So, stats below may not be accurate because apparently math does not exist in Nevada. Too much time at legal brothels?

Nevada currently has five players who average double figures. They are 6’4” Desmon Cambridge Jr. (15.0 ppg), 6.2” Grant Sherfield (15.3 ppg), 7’0” Will Baker (13.5 ppg), 6’7” AJ Braham (13.0 ppg & 7.3 reb), 7’0” Warren Washington (12.3 ppg & 6.9 reb). They haven’t gotten much production from their bench thus far which works to our advantage.

The Wolf Pack have averaged 81.0 points per game while giving up 79.0. Nevada is shooting 48.0% from the floor and 41.2% from 3. Opponents are shooting 45.9% from the field and 30.2% from 3. The Wolf Pack have out rebounded their opponents by 3.2 board thus far.

The game is now on ESPN+.

My prediction: They are BIG. This will not be an easy one and fatigue takes its toll. For the first time this year I am predicting a loss. Nevada 71 - GMU 70. We fall to 0-2 for the tourney. We drown our sorrows by playing in the snow and going to the food court yet again because it’s the only damn thing to do in town!

Discuss.

I predict a win by the good guys. Better shooting performance and better (but still not good) turnover rate helps our guys right the ship... 81-70.

Mason is 4-2 and their BPI rating is 97

Nevada is 1-4 and their BPI is 107

Could be a tough game. Yes they got stomped by SDSU but SDSU has the advantage of being the home team in freakin South Dakota.

A win tonight is crucial for fan hype but relatively inconsequential overall as Phoenix mentioned the OOC this year is to work out the kinks and find out the best rotations for conference play.

Nevada just dismissed AJ Bramah from the team for conduct detrimental to the team. Not sure what he did in South Dakota...

6'7 senior, averaging 21.3 mpg. 10.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.3 apg. Only played 16 minutes against SD State with 4 points 4 rebounds 0 assists.
Wow! My guess would be something to do with farm animals. ;)

Damn that sucks. Was hoping to see Nevada at full strength.

What could he have done to get dismissed from the team not only midseason but In The middle of an away tournament? WOW

LOL, that's wild. So the guy who goes to school in Nevada - gets in trouble for doing something in freaking South Dakota!

2 7 footers in the starting lineup (one that plays a ton on the perimeter). It will be interesting to see the defensive game plan tonight. Very winnable game against a team going thru a rough patch. We have to step on their throats tonight. Cannot wait for Hartwell to be switched onto a 7 footer

Maybe that's the point though. Whatever your freaky fetish is, whether it's having strangers eat fried chicken off your body outside a H-Burg KFC (cough, cough, @CHRISTOPHER JAMES JOLLAY) or just some ol' fashioned a**-play (cough, cough, @Pikapppatri8) there's a play for you in one of Nevada's multiple sin-cities. Plus what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

South Dakota by contrast, you got a much more limited selection of deviancy. And what happens in Sioux City, everybody f'n finds out.
