W0w - only loss was by 3 @ Butler. A win would certainly take the bad taste out of my mouth after the Iona debacle. Can't see it happening though. GMU has the talent to win this one, but I doubt Hewitt will have the team prepared. Hope I'm wrong.

We lose, 70-55. This coaching staff and players do not have the competence and heart to compete. Yes, we are 4-1, but situations like these is what lead to the coining of the term "Paper Tiger".

And before someone out there accuses me of having something against Hewitt, trust me, I would like nothing more than to come back here and eat massive amounts of crow.

I do NOT want to be right about Hewitt. I want the team's performance the rest of the year to make me look like the biggest idiot on these boards (if I'm not already).

On any given game day, if I had to pick between...

1. We have the talent to win this game but probably won't rise to the occasion. Chance of winning is 50%...

-or-

2. We are facing a superior opponent but can gut out a win here if we play well. Chance of a win is 25%...

I'd pick No.2 every time. Unfortunately, this feels like the first scenario. Too many of our games over the past couple of years have fallen in this category. Frustrating.

We go up by 24 in the first ten minutes, then we continue to be relentless and keep our foot on their throat, never letting them even attempt a come back!

What can I say... I'm a dreamer.

GMU wins and keeps the fans hopeful for the season, before ripping out the hearts of fans with a sorry performance against a sub-par team in the next game.
It's all a part of a clever plan.

I am half tempted to hop in the car and drive to this one. I guess I am fair weather because my fear is that I would drive all this way and then they would lose.

Weather is supposed to be nasty for most of the east coast Tuesday night into Wednesday.

My gut has been wrong before, sure, but it's telling me that GMU is going to pick up this win. I can't believe that after that horrible loss to Iona that GMU is going to come out with the same attitude and mental lapses. The team is lucky there are only a few days to prepare for Princeton so that the loss doesn't linger too long. I believe we'll see a more focused squad that will definitely be in the game til the final whistle. I actually think that there may have been some 'looking past' Iona since GMU had just reached 4-0 for only the second time in school history and maybe thought that they would just get back into that game. Regardless, they got their asses kicked and I think they will respond.
