LUC is playing physical, but they have also scouted us well. Closing out on shooters and over-playing our drive tendencies.

It feels like we’re playing 6 on 5 on both ends of the court. They’re doubling us in the post, anticipating every pass we throw, killing us with back-door cuts, and destroying us on the offensive boards.

I’m honestly not sure what adjustments Tony can make at halftime when we are so physically outmatched on offense and defense.
We are playing basketball, they not so much…just need to get real physical, gotta take what the refs offer.

Don’t know what to do about doubling our pg, seems like we don’t know how to adjust. we aren’t playing any defense against their back doors.

either throw some adjustments or this is a big ol L

I get your point, but I think it also vastly underestimates how good this Chicago team really is. They wear their toughness as a badge of honor, and they are going to double team the ball aggressively, push through screens, and crash the boards as hard as possible knowing they have the depth to pull it off.

I understand your point, but this is not really basketball anymore. It’s something in between rugby as I think someone pointed out and basketball.

Loyola has exposed the A10 for being a very soft conference. They are not talented but they play tough and is what it is. They won’t beat great teams but they will beat the teams that play scared and timid.

Bonnie’s winning now hurts. Least it’s looking like playing in play in game is almost for sure off the table.

Can’t wait to see this team play a bunch of neutral court games… The whistle will be totally different as it was for vcu. Kelly was out at the top of the key and the Loyola guy had his hand on his arm the entire time he had the ball. We haven’t played well, but this is not basketball.

No it’s not, but he has exposed the A10. Hope other teams adjust and realize everyone has to get a lot lot tougher

You keep doubling down on your analysis that Loyola is not very talented, but they are right up there with Dayton as the one of the best teams in the league if not the best.

They can score inside and out, they play tenacious defense, they are equally adept at pushing the ball or scoring in half-court sets, and they aggressively crash the boards and block shots.

If they get in the NCCAT, they have the talent, depth and style of play to make a run.

They’d lose their first round game because they’ll have a high seed and will have to play against a team that most likely have a PG who can break them down all on their own. This also happened to vcu a lot.
