To expand on Allenspach and his not playing today. @Old Man was sitting near Riley's dad and his dad reported that Riley "Dislocated his rib against GW." Interesting that he played against RI. Oh well. Nice to rebound with the win tonight. Given the poor weather I was pretty happy with the attendance.

We won the game. I think the game showed he’s not quite that critical. Hopefully he’ll realize he should put some effort into better D.
Both can be true. Defense wins games, or you can try and out score your opponent. I think what made the team so good was that Tony was using both aspects well until he got hurt and likely didn't have enough time to pivot in game on Saturday.

I'm not sure what that is, but I do know that injured ribs hurt like the dickens.

No wonder he was so off against RI.
Probably shouldn't have even played.

We probably would have won by more if he was healthy and had played.
Yep, our leading rebounder and second leading scorer is not quite that critical. Uh huh.

I’ll take the ugly dub. Riley is a focal point in our offense so not surprised with us being out of whack. Glad Mincy was able to put the team on his back.

We need to charge Dola tuition, that guy displays no effort and looks completely lost on the floor. I hope he wasn’t a high NIL cost for us this year.

Mincy was lights out on both ends today. He really sparked some energy with his defense and timely shooting today.

There are two sides of the coin with Allenspach. Tonight without him showed one side of it. Mason was definitely better defensively most of the game without Allenspach. The only stretch they were not as good was when Ellington and Kanga picked up two fouls and Dola had to come in.

The other side of the coin is Allenspach offensively. When he is on, he is almost unstoppable. But you give up a lot defensively.

That is a really tough task to find the balance on for Tony and his staff. You almost just have to go with the hot hand between Riley, Kanga, and Ellington. Each of them bring something different to the table.

We had to grind this one out without Allenspach but we certainly did. Defense turned up when we needed as they couldnt do squat down the stretch.

Mincy is an absolute stud. Nice contribution from Hill and the rest of the guys as needed. We continue to absolutely rock at home and overall. 19-2 is awesome. Go Mason.

Ellington was the key. Offensively he gets those jump hooks off so quickly upon the entry. He doesn't need any power dribbles.. defensively. He is incredibly physical and his vibe carries to the rest of the team. I love the he communicates switches on defense..him and kanga are a good tandem.

I agree. I think he and Kanga really stepped it up tonight up front with Sivka. They are making the most of their opportunities.

Gutty win and another great job by Tony getting team to 19-2 when they didn't have everything firing on offense. I don't think Dola is 100% healthy either. They really have battled injuries all year.

I was at the game, came home and watched the replay. Mincy is an 5 star player, 19 pts 6 assists (3-4 others went thru players hands), 7 boards and 2 steals. Without him we have at least 4 or5 more losses. He doesn't take as many shots as he should and he distributes like a PG even though most of the time he plays the 2. Can't say enough about him. As for the rest of the team,, Fatt played well, yes he loses the ball but his drives and dunks light up the crowd. We are by far a better defensive team with Kanga and Elllington in the game. I don't agree we are better with Riley in the game., his defense is atrocious, (see last 4-5 games especially against RI. If he can't learn to play better D, use him as a sub for offense when needed. Couple other notes: good crowd tonight , I think its Stool guy getting the students out kudos to him; what is going on with Troutman 1 Pt and bad D ; finally FT s are starting to hurt us again. Overall, really nice win with a short bench, on to St Bonnie.
