Virginia Tech – let’s see, their mascot is the Hokie Bird. First off, you need to be given a name, Hokie Bird. I’m thinking something Cleetus or Goober might work. Then, you also need to name the purple booger thing hanging from your beak. If I pull it, do I win a prize or something? I mean, you could probably have that thing removed by getting a string and tying one end to your hanging booger thing and the other end to a door and then having someone kick you really far. If that doesn’t work, you could just have someone kick you really far.

NET really doesn’t mean anything until mid January, the wild swings that occur in the first few weeks make it hard to project where everything will shake out at this point. These teams could all do fine and still drop in the rankings as the P5 starts to play each other and weird things start to happen.Depends. We’ve got 2 games with both GW and vcu. And then home games against Dayton and SLU. SLU would be a Q1 game even at home now.
Guys, there are 9 teams in the top 100 in NET right now. There are lots of good opportunities on our schedule. Got to avoid the Q3 and Q4 losses but we’re going to get several Q1 games and a decent number of Q2 games in conference play.
I read something about pretzels with a few dip options and British Beer.Email from VT:

I am on board with your sentiment about the "other school". Several years back, we invited two of our friends that attended that school when they played at Mason (I think it was Tony Bennett's first or second season). Probably the best game ever played at EBA. A full house and Mason beat them at the buzzer. Afterwards, we went out to dinner and I commented on what a great game it was. Our female friend's response, "Well, UVA always loses to some nobody team early in the season". They just can't help themselves.I have become very familiar with Virginia Tech sports since my relocation to the Shenandoah Valley in 2001 (Tech sports are featured on WINC radio which carried both their basketball and football games and a very entertaining coaches show "Tech Talk Live"). By and large, I have found the "Tech fanbase" in both Football ( they WERE a National Power in football under Frank Beamer who 'retired' after the 2015 season) AND Basketball (where they have historically been a "middling" performer for decades with a lot of NIT's and first found tournament ousters with one "Sweet Sixteen" in 2018-19 in the last three decades) to be very friendly and without ego or pretense,... unlike that "other school" from Charlottesville where you will find an occasional pompous prick. Just say'n, just say'n. .
I lived in that area myself for 11 years a couple of decades ago. I agree. I never ran into a VT jerk fan. I even went to a couple of their football games with some of their alums. Annoyingly rabid? Absolutely! But jerks?
