Conference / Non Conference opponent tracker 25-26

I believe the idea is to have 5-7 top 100 teams, which should help with the multiple bids; however the top of the conference needs to be in the 35-45 range and not the 55-65 range).

So if you’ve got Dayton, vcu, SLU, Mason, GW as top 100 teams if we can get two of the other teams mentioned in that range we’d be in a good position as a league to get multiple bids (provided the top of the conference actually performs the way they need to).

It’s convoluted and stupid but that’s where we are.
You got it

Rams were 10 pt underdogs, so their kenpom rating goes from #64 to #58.

St. Joe's was favored (by 6?), loses by 9

St. joes is a pillow fight contender this year it seems. Have to put them in there with Fordham (of course), La Salle, and sad to say Loyola right now (they could turn it around though).

Rhody, Richmond, and Davidson look improved but maybe they slip into that bottom four if things go wrong for them.

Duquesne, Mason, and Bonnie’s look like solid mid-tier teams who could crash the top four party if things go right. Mason needs to get healthy if they want a chance.

Most likely top four right now of vcu, SLU, Dayton, GW. Dayton seems the weakest of the top 4, but eyeing GW over a full season.

If we dont buy in fully to defending, we will definitely be a 6 or below seed. I Hate vcu, but they lost head coach and entire roster. They looked damn good last night. I guess they can buy better players.

They did somewhat luck into a stud freshman point guard who was a top 60 recruit who committed to Xavier and then decommited late after Sean Miller left. He’s every bit as advertised.

But I’m also sure vcu’s NIL budget is bigger than ours. I mean, we’ve got who—Brian, Kathy McCay that that other guy?

I also think you’re right. Losing Haynes really hurt this team. Allensbach would be fine if he was our backup, and he might develop into a serviceable big, but we will have more nights where we struggle to score than not in A10 play and if we can’t lock down on defense it might get ugly—I’m scared of what L’Etang, Castro, Avila, Hugley, and Rubin is going to do to our front line this season.

I disagree on Allensbach. He's got good footwork and can hit the open 3. Great IQ and the more his guards find him the more productive he can be. Defensively we are going to have to help certain areas and the low post may be it. We can defend 1-4 but Allensbach vs Avila/Castro may need some creative defending. I think our weak side defense could get some blocks on rotation or help D with leapers like Presley and maybe Troutman/Adebayo. In addition, they all have length which is my one hope vs vcu.
