Board Modernization Coming - Preview

Gentlemen and Ladies,

I'm proud to announce some upgrades are around the corner! We'll wait until the college hoops season is over, but soon after, we'll pick a date and migrate the old boards' posts over to the new boards.

This change will give us new features:

• Security, in-browser encryption (https)
• Full scrolling within a topic (no clicking to read the next page of posts)
• Dynamic notifications for replies to your posts
• Mobile-ready interface - no need for helper apps
• Community moderation - you can flag a message as inappropriate
• Spam blocking - much harder for spammers to spam
• New badges and emojis

Here is the preview of the new message boards, provided so that you can poke around and get familiar with it. Please let me know if you have feedback!

Yes, all user accounts will be migrated over. You will be asked to reset your password upon login on the new system - which will probably require making sure that your email address is correct in your profile on the old boards.

Will new site work with Tapatalk?

The new site is built to be responsive to mobile and currently there is no integration with Tapatalk supported. However, there is an app called "Discourse Hub" downloadable from the Apple App Store, or "Discourse" from Google Play. Ultimately, it sounds like viewing through a browser is the best experience.

I actually don’t use Tapatalk anymore, because I got annoyed at all the notifications on my phone and wanted to be left alone, so I only use our current platform on a browser already.

Me too. Tapatalk interjects lots of ads when you use the free version and Masonhoops doesn't see any of that revenue.
