Cassedy scattered five singles over 7.1 shutout innings to improve to 7-1 on the season in the Patriots 6-2 win over Davidson on Sunday. The right-hander from Manassas, Va., struck out a season-high nine batters and walked just one. Cassedy retired 12 of the first 13 batters he faced in the game and allowed just one runner into scoring position in the outing.
Alberti went 9-for-18 with his first career grand slam, 10 RBI, four runs scored, three walks and three stolen bases. He had four multi-hit games and drove in at least one run in every game. Alberti went 3-for-5 with a grand slam and six RBI in the series opener at Davidson in a 15-7 win and was 2-for-4 with three stolen bases in the middle game of the series.
