'22 Recruiting Class Signed and Delivered

I love that all three of our commits signed their NLIs during the early commitment period and the coaching staff doesn't have to continue fighting off other programs until April or beyond. All of them feel like they've potential to blow up even more over the winter and get additional looks and offers if they were still on the market. So glad they felt confident in the program and where they wanted to be.

Also loving that the programs they're coming from; IMG, Milton, and Gonzaga. Iron sharpens iron and should help with the transition from high school to college athletics.

It'll be interesting to see if the class is now done or if we sign anyone else late or go back to the transfer portal again.

I'll add that CKE and the basketball staff did an awesome job on social media introducing each player with multiple posts with video and rich media. You really get a sense for why they wanted each guy when you actually hear the coaches and see highlights of the player thrown in. This has never been the case with DP, Hewitt or Old Cuban Guy - certainly an evolution to use media in new ways. The program is coming off like a P5 school right now. Love the energy it creates!

Example: Cam "Boogie" Walker - hit play on the video

In the last couple of days I've seen a couple of sorta kinda derisive comments about coach L. Come on guys, he elevated us to our greatest heights (to date). Seems to me he deserves more respect.

I'm sure if twitter were a thing back then he would of used it. He probably still doesn't know what twitter is.

To piggy back off of that, be sure to let the program/administration know that the increase of social media is appreciated. I’m sure the upgrade comes at a cost, so it might be beneficial to let them know it is noticed and worth the investment.

That's the great thing about social media. They've already measured and already know.

only in the eyes of the law - theoretically
the court of public opinion and perception is a whole different matter
The court of people who weren’t at the scene and have no idea what happened? I’m no bleeding heart and if they did it put them under the jail for all I care, just sad how people assume everyone who gets arrested is guilty

Innocent until proven guilty still a thing?
To be fair, he said "I think." I can say "I think" just about anything. "I think" Mason is going to go undefeated this year and win every remaining game by double digits. Doesn't mean anything...

It would appear we an extra scholly for next year. Do people think Cooper will stick around for another year?

I hear what you're saying and I think I know what you mean by it, and I don't disagree w/that.

But yeah, I am assuming they're guilty. And it's not because they're black youth from Atlanta or anything like that. I'm assuming it because it's after a month-long investigation and a very high profile arrest (state championship team) that the Police will know will be scrutinized and they'll be crucified if they F it up.

It doesn't mean they should be spoken of as convicted and guilty until they are, but the concept of innocent until proven guilty refers just to the Law. In reality they are either guilty or innocent and the court case has nothing to do w/it, they either did it or they didn't. For the record, I also think OJ is a murderer and he was found innocent.

Gosh I hope so, but I don't think he counts against scholarship limit due to 5th year COVID rules. Would love him back
I wasn't sure how that worked. So we could have both Hartwell and Cooper stick around for their 5th year and still add another recruit/transfer?
