Someone once said something about a two year season. Maybe we need to look at things from that perspective.

What do you think of the idea of locking guys into 2 or 3 year contracts so we aren’t a transfer springboard? Is that feasible @mkaufman1 ?

Maybe it’s time to go against the grain and sign guys to 3 year contracts and demand some loyalty rather than being a pit stop like we are a AA team.

If we're the only school demanding players sign multi-year contracts then we aren't going to get the players we need. We can wish it worked like this, but it just doesn't right now.

That AA team we had last year was literally a couple bounces away from the NCAA Tournament.

This strategy does not exist anymore.

There are teams that have retained a core of players (we actually somewhat did the previous season with Haynes, Newton, Billups, Maddox, and Ball — even though Ball didn’t play). I am hoping that with revenue sharing Mason can be more competitive in keeping some of the players who contribute positively or have shown promise for development.

For what it’s worth Calipari agrees with this idea.
