A10 talk rankings.

Although 6th in this, the team is 4th in the NET.

Interestingly, the Summit League currently has more projected teams in the tournament than the A-10: https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/s...ogy-2026-women-college-basketball-projections

Summit League:
#11 seed North Dakota State (aq)
#11 seed South Dakota State

A-10:
#10 seed Richmond (aq)

Weird. SD State has the same NET as URI but is 0-3 against Q1 whereas Rhody is 1-0. Rhody also only has 1 loss and SD State has 4.

I have a feeling this will change since the the A10 has 6 teams in the top 74 in NET right now and the Summit really only has those teams in the top 100.

URI = AQ & a #10 seed

Richmond - last of the first four out

I suspect that we need to win out the regular season and get to the A-10 finals to overcome the Richmond "effect"

I tend to agree. Richmond seems almost immune to much in the way of downward NET movement. I could see that they wouldn't drop much after losing to us, but I thought the GW loss would have had more of an impact.

Previously posted on Men's board but it may be even more relevant here:

Hmm....brings back memories of when Tom O'Connor was on the men's selection committee when Mason got an at-large bid that led to our Final Four run!

latest bracketology has Richmond as the last team IN. Has them as an #11 playing in a first four game.

Rhode Island is also an #11

i am pi**ed that Richmond made the NCAA Tourney, and GMU did not despite
1) winning 2 of 3 in head-to-head
2) finishing ahead of them in both regular season and the A-10 Tourney

Richmond as an #11 plays in the First 4 vs Nebraska in Durham, NC. Would play winner of Duke vs Charleston.

URI, also an #11, plalys against Alabama in Louisville. Would play winner of Louisville vs Vermont winner.

Richmond had a better, and deserving, resume, Im glad they made it. Similar to when our men got in over Hofstra in 2006.

Hofstra probably deserved to be in rather than left out that year (CAA deserved 3 bids). They finished with a better RPi than Kansas, GW, Marquette, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan (most of whose got at-large bids). Hell Kentucky’s RPI was one better than Hofstra’s and Kentucky had an 8 seed in the NCAA and Hofstra was a damn 3 seed in the NIT

Edit: I think the women lost too many close games in the OOC to be considered. Had they beaten Temple, Liberty, and Princeton (2 OT and one epic collapse) they are probably dancing.
