FAIRFAX, Va. – After a nine-day hiatus, the George Mason women's basketball team will return to the court for another game on the road, this time at East Carolina in Greenville.
Both teams are looking to extend win streaks, as Mason looks to build on a defense-heavy victory last weekend, downing the Mount on the road, 77-30. East Carolina looks for their fourth-straight win, with its' last coming two weeks ago at home against UMES, 72-57.
One of the Patriots longest-standing rivalries, the teams will meet for the 49th time in program history after battling in the CAA throughout the 80s and 90s. Last season, Mason won 54-41, led by 30 combined points from the senior pair of
Sonia Smith and
Jazmyn Doster. However, East Carolina has won three of the last four, including both meetings in Greenville.

- Last week, the Patriots earned their highest-ever NET ranking since the metric debuted in the 2020-21 season. Mason earned a No. 69 ranking
- The last time out, Mason held the Mount to 30 points, the fewest by an opponent since Jan. 12, 1991 when the Patriots held UNC Wilmington to 28 points in a 53-28 CAA victory
- For the sixth time this season, four or more Patriots scored in double-figures, led by a career-high matching 15 from freshman Kennedy Harris. Also pacing the high-powered offense were Taylor Jameson and Paula Suárez, who matched their own career-highs of six assists each.
