Miller probably should have gotten it over Osun Osunniyi. Perhaps if he played the entire season he would have.

Just something to note, despite Paulsens emphasis on defense we have yet to place anyone on the all defense team.

I don’t think it really means anything, but if tough d is supposed to be our trademark you’d think we’d have at least one in the last 4 years?

Interesting. All we can do is hope that Otis is pissed off. He was chosen as A10 first team preseason but got zip when it counted. Points per game down, field goal % down, 3 point % down, rebounds down, and assists down from his junior year. Time to step up and make everyone pay Otis!

Otis from first team preseason to not even making third team sucks. He still had a good season; if expectations weren't so high, would he have been considered one of the 15 best players in the league? Is he being "punished" for not living up to the hype, or for ending the season in a scoring slump? Probably not... 13 ppg and top 10 in assists could be enough for 3rd team if he had put up some defensive numbers to go with it, but he didn't.

Anyway, say what you want about DP (but don't... It's all been said), but we've had two "most improved" awards in 3 years. Players do develop in our program.

vcu has one of the top defensive teams in the country according to KenPom and they got exactly nobody on the A-10 all-defensive team.

The voters almost always choose guys with the highest block and steal totals — it has nothing at all to do with which players are the hardest to score against.

You forget that he transferred from Rice, one of the strongest academic schools in the South. My guess is that the competition on grades was more keen there.

They must consider the entire season, because, a, Miller played in all but 3 conference games, and, b, Kellan Grady really struggled during the conference season and he was still all-first team.
