At the end of the last Mystics regular season game, renovations were started on the Cap One Center. End Court seating was already torn out, bathrooms were being renovated as well as at least half of the concession stands, changes to the Club Level and installation of new Cap One signage were all visibly occuring.
The first set of playoff games were played at GWU-Smith Center. But GWU-Smith center is not available next week for some reason. Women's National team plays Japan there on Monday nite and unsure if there are other events - like Women's volleyball are scheduled.
I am surprised that they didnt schedule American or Howard as at least those arenas are Metro accessible. Driving from DC to GMU on a weeknight will be test the soul of a hardened fan.
Based on what I have seen of attendance I am taking that "Mystics Tickets selling fast" with a grain of salt. The lower level of EBA is being held by the Mystics and the upper level is all GA. Girl Scout day is the highest attended Mystics game and that tops 10,000. And take my word for it - you do not want to be in an arena with 10,000 screaming 13 year old girls - just give your tickets away. Attendance at the other games is so low that everyone could comfortably sit in the court facing center sections with some room.
