Graduate guard Jahari Long led George Mason with a careerhigh 25 points in the win. He set a new EagleBank Arena facility record for free throws made (16) on just 17 attempts. It broke the previous mark of 15 set by Nate Langley and Curtis McCants. u Long ranks 12th nationally in FT made (25) and is fifth in the A-10 in scoring (17.7 ppg) through three games.

Just to remind us all about Jahari's contributions particularly since the conference season started. In the last 3 games he has 12 assists and NO Turnovers! May not have scored in double digits in those games but I'd bet it's been a while since one of our point guards had those kind of numbers.

It seems that he can turn it on in the stretch at will. If I'/m remembering right, he pulled us through the early season MTE games whenever we needed a big shot. Same today--almost 30 minutes into the game with zero points and all of a sudden he takes over the game.

Besides his point production in the clutch, in 4 conference games :17 assists, 1 turnover.

I’m confused why Mason hasn’t danced. If these players are good enough to be poached by big programs, they’re good enough to make March Madness. Mason has million-dollar players on the roster—Mason should be good.

Mason has been pretty damn good the last two years — one rimmed-out 3 away from OT in the A-10 final, then a great start this season derailed by Mincy’s injury. Good players, good coaches, lots of wins … gotta break through and finally get a bid.
