Add Hill to that list. And there's your core.Don't be so sure. Keep an eye on Kanga, Long, and O'Connor looking to stay.

Unclear to me if his juco years will end up counting against his eligibility. IIRC, the NCAA granted a temporary waiver last year allowing for an extra year of eligibility for juco transfers.I thought Fatt is out of eligibility?
As much as I agree, it seems to be part of Tony’s recruiting strategy. Think you belong at a P5? Come use Mason as a stepping stone to get there. We seem happy to reap the benefits for a year at a time.My attitude at this point is...If you come to Mason with more than one year of eligibility and you leave early the hell with you. You'll soon be erased from my memory. If you come with more than one year and stick around, you'll have my respect. Billups, Maddox, etc. The 4 year player? Long gone, and the game suffers as a result. How much longer am I willing to donate and remain passionate is the question. Time will tell. LOL.
I agree emotionally, but can't get too twisted about a kid leaving for more NIL. I've left jobs for a raise, and will (hopefully) do it again. As much as I agree, it seems to be part of Tony’s recruiting strategy. Think you belong at a P5? Mason operates on 1/4 to 1/3 of vcu's roster budget and now 1/5 to 1/6 of SLU's budget..Mason isn't keeping important players more than a year.My attitude at this point is...If you come to Mason with more than one year of eligibility and you leave early the hell with you. Add Michael Belle to the list as wellvcu is returning 6'0 Nyk Lewis and 6'11 Lazar Djokovic for this upcoming season
Djokovic averaged 13.2 points and 5.2 rebounds this past season. He was first-team all-conference, A-10 champion and had 15 points and five rebounds in the NCAA Tournament win against UNC.
George Mason on the other hand lost 6'2 Kory Mincy and 6'11 Riley Allenspach to the portal
One program is serious about winning at basketball. The other is George Mason.vcu is returning 6'0 Nyk Lewis and 6'11 Lazar Djokovic for this upcoming season

How much rev share is vcu giving to mens bball? Thats a legit question to argue with the BOV over. However, NIL is what makes the difference. The BOV will tell you to write several $1 Million checks to make up the difference like vcu fans do. So what now what?@gmujim92 : If it’s not too much trouble? Can you email the board of visitors to urge more investment on par with vcu and SLU? BOV@gmu.edu
vcu fans aren’t writing million-dollar checks. Their university-funded rev share for MBB is already north of $5M and going up.How much rev share is vcu giving to mens bball? MoneybasketballWhatever our NIL budget is, we all need to be thinking more in terms of professional sports teams with salary caps.
Sometimes you have to let free agents walk even though you want them, and maybe could pay them, because you can’t spend that much money on one player.
The other side of the coin is getting players at value where you under paid for what they produced. see Mincy last year - just like what the 49ers had while Purdy was still on his rookie contract and was literally one of the lowest paid players in the league.
Until we can compete on an even playing field financially, we would be smart to make the stepping stone pitch to players moving up like Kory - then we try to keep them if the $ makes sense or the want to stay like BOC and Long.
I get the money. I really do. But don't any of these guys say, "Mason gave me a shot. I owe it to them to commit."?Whatever our NIL budget is, we all need to be thinking more in terms of professional sports teams with salary caps.

I was of the understanding the basketball greatness fund is what is needed to grow. How much rev share is vcu giving to mens bball? Thats a legit question to argue with the BOV over. Very very few. Almost none, in fact.I get the money. I really do. But don't any of these guys say, "Mason gave me a shot. I owe it to them to commit."?
Never say never. Are you open to emailing the board of visitors?Mason and vcu have the same yearly student fee of $3,800. vcu though has a separate athletic fee of $1,400 that generates them $41M yearly. Mason will never be on par with vcu.
