I read and understood everything you just said but the statement which you posted above is not a done deal.

Mason is 18-1 but they almost lost to a Loyola team with 5 rotational players out and a 5-9 walk on point guard in the starting lineup and GW team with 2 players out and the worst end of game coach in the A10.

No game going forward is a gimme..let's just worry about URI first
Correct which is why I said it's far from a given. "I'm not saying it will happen or won't which has constantly been my message." I didn't start the topic, i'm just contributing to the fact there is indeed a path without an AQ and adding O'Connor to playing for a shot at the tournament is still very much alive which was the original message. To which some said there is no point it's AQ or bust.

I'll just say this much for the negative crowd. Since he's Canadian the path for NIL is slim and very tricky. As Long as Tony returns he will be back. So does he wait for next year? Who knows but going along the lines of it's AQ or bust, well then now is as good of a chance as any other year. Based on what i'm reading and the Arguments being made it will always be AQ or bust to you guys so then yeah now is as good as any!

On the flip side If you have doubts about them winning the games at home or conference games they certainly aren't going to rattle off that many in a row in Pittsburgh so I guess this season is a road game in the NIT or maybe no post season at all. The NIT is irrelevant with NIL and who cares but that's for a different subject. So wether O'Connor comes back or not is still very much a debate of who knows.

Hasn’t BOC mention spending NIL money on his wedding in several interviews?
I guess Mason found a way to make it work. Which is great, good for him! You guys tell me whats the loophole? In the past it was said it was very hard to make it work and google says its hard. So I don't know? Anyone have any insight into this?

From chat gpt when I asked Are any current foreign college basketball players currently earning NIL money:

There are examples of international (non-U.S.) college basketball players who have earned or structured NIL-related income, but reporting and legal issues make the picture complicated:

Known International/Foreign NIL Income Examples

1. Aaliyah Edwards (Canadian, UConn Women’s Basketball)

  • She signed a NIL deal with Adidas Canada — but because of U.S. visa/work restrictions, that income and promotional work are tied to Canada rather than being paid/earned while in the U.S. directly.
2. International Athletes Using Home-Country Opportunities

Some international college athletes reportedly arranged endorsement deals or basketball camps in their home countries that generated income tied to their name/image — like a UConn player organizing a camp in Mali while abroad.

So the type of NIL earnings exists for foreign players — especially when tied outside the U.S. or during foreign travel — but straightforward U.S. NIL paychecks are rare because of visa work rules.

⚠️ Legal Reality: Visa Restrictions Limit U.S. Earnings

Even though the NCAA lets international players enter into NIL deals, many are advised not to accept direct U.S. payment because doing so can violate their F-1 student visa work rules. That has meant many international athletes can’t be paid in the U.S. for typical NIL activities.

This doesn’t mean they are officially banned by the NCAA — just that immigration law restrictions usually prevent them from collecting typical U.S. NIL compensation.

Summary

✔️ International college players can enter NIL deals.

✔️ Some have earned income via home-country opportunities or foreign deals (e.g., Adidas Canada for Aaliyah Edwards).

❌ Direct NIL earnings paid in the U.S. are rare due to F-1 visa employment restrictions.

Alright: After a late arrival home on Monday and a fairly busy day yesterday I can finally give my thoughts on the game.
1: Man, what a crowd and atmosphere. Fans were in it all night.
2: These guys battle. Fought adversity after being down quick in the first and then getting pulled behind late in the second. They just close.
3: Pretty happy that we tied them in rebounds, especially with the size advantage they had in the front court of the majority of the game.
4: Team got sped up more than I thought they would have. Felt like Caputo threw a little more ball pressure at us than he normally does at other teams. Happens and you move on.
5: Riley continues to just be so fun. It'll feel like he's out of a game and then suddenly he goes on a personal scoring run and he finishes with 18 and 12. What a player.
6: Only 7 minutes from Dola, but I thought they were a pretty good 7 minutes. His active hands were obvious in on ball defense.
7: The freshmen! We know how good Kanga is, but a great 7 minutes from DBook as well! Probably his best defensive game of the season, that block got me as excited as his three did.
8: 5 assists from Long, 4 assists from Mincy, but also three each from Troutman and Fatt. Love that from our wings.
9: Trout has really stepped up last three games, specifically from inside the arc, he is 8-11 from two over the last three. He's been big.
10: Five straight over GW. Man that's nice. Now please don't lose to Rhody.
