I caught that too. According to the Patriot Club email it was the first MTE Championship since the 2019 Cayman Island Classic. I'll let @Pablo dig through the Fenwick Library archives to determine if that's accurate.

Yes, we won that tournament (wins over ODU, Nebraska, and New Mexico). That was the year we were something like 10-1 and then lost to a mediocre TCU team by 30 going into conference play and wound up a pillow fight team.

"Mincy averaged 23.0 points, 3.7 assists, 1.0 steals and shot 53.8 percent from the floor in three wins for George Mason last week. The Sunshine Slam Most Valuable Player also went 12-of-25 from 3-point range (.480), 15-of-15 from the free throw line and sported a 5.5 assist/turnover ratio, surrendering the ball just twice across the three games. Mincy, a guard from East Point, Ga., opened the week with 22 points, four assists and a career-best six 3-pointers in a win over Ohio. Then in the championship game of the Sunshine Slam, he notched 22 points on 7-of-12 (.583) from the field and 3-for-5 (.600) from three and a team-best five assists in a win over Florida Atlantic. He wrapped up the week with a game-high 25 points on 8-of-15 (.533) from the field, two assists and two steals in a win over in-state rival James Madison."

IMO... The fanbase needs to start thinking NOW about how we will support the AD to retain Mr. Mincy's services next season. You know the Big10, SEC, ACC and Big12 are salivating over Kory's last year of eligibility.

Sure, he can easily transfer up and try to be a starter in the P4 - but if he continues to average 20+ and is a dominant STAR in the A10, he will be the BMOC, and will get noticed and drafted just the same. AND he will go down as a Mason Legend.

Keeping him means that the fans need to be realistic and SHOW him the love, and show him the NIL money. We might have him this year for a possible NCAA appearance, but we need to think ahead to how big of a season '26-'27 could be! (This probably goes for Tony, too).
