Has us at 20-10 and 10-8. One pt home losses to vcu and Dayton. Obviously doesn't mean much at this point.

The four-way tie for 22nd is probably the funniest thing I'm going to read today on the internet.

A 10 is not mid-major.

I’m sure Memphis loves being put in there as well.

The A10 is a multi-bid league that is slowly slipping into mid-major status due to consolidation of the Power conferences and manipulation of the rankings to favor said conferences. But there is a clear gap in funding between the top 7/8 conferences and everyone else in basketball so I like to go with the 3 bid league’s classification of the Power 8 (P4 + Big East, A10, AAC, and soon to be PAC12). The AAC might also fall out of Power Conference status if Memphis ever finds a landing spot.

Apologies if this has been posted in another thread, I don't remember seeing it.

"Last season, Njie earned a spot on the all-MAAC rookie team following a strong freshman season with the Gaels before he transferred to Dayton, which was picked to finish third in the Atlantic 10's preseason poll.

'The University of Dayton has been notified by the NCAA of potential eligibility concerns related to Adam Njie, connected to matters that occurred prior to his enrollment at the University,' Dayton athletic director Neil Sullivan said in a statement. 'In light of these concerns and the ongoing review process, Adam will not be participating in athletic competition at this time.'

Njie and his agents did not immediately respond to ESPN's request for comment.

He made 28 starts for Iona last season."

They were just talking about this on the 3 Bid League preseason review episode: it’s apparently betting related.

And speaking of the episode, John Giannini on Mason: length and athleticism at every position, no Jared Billups on roster (single elite lockdown defender), don’t underestimate Long, O’Connor is great, afraid of a lack of offensive skill (will have to grind out wins again, he thinks), will be hard to beat because of Skinn’s “force of personality.”

If you haven’t listened before, it’s the best A10 focused podcast (better than Field of 68, better than A10 Talk). It’s my go-to to get a sense of the other teams in conference and some of the players who I don’t get to see often because I don’t have the time to be a basketball sicko.

ESPN item on A10 and prospects for multiple bids:

Atlantic 10 Conference

Could this be a multibid season for the conference?

A three-bid Selection Sunday isn't a pipe dream for a conference that has six teams listed in KenPom's top-100 preseason rankings. vcu coach Phil Martelli Jr. has recruited multiple high-major transfers in his first season at Richmond. Garrett Johnson (13.4 PPG in 2023-24) is back for George Washington after sitting out last season because of an ACL tear. Saint Louis star Robbie Avila is the top returning scorer in the conference. George Mason coach Tony Skinn has led the Patriots to back-to-back 20-win seasons. Miles Rubin could be a star at Loyola Chicago. And Dayton has a fleet of scorers who averaged double figures last season. Depending on what happens in nonconference action, the A-10 could enjoy one of its strongest seasons.
