Has anyone had any luck accessing their season tickets yet? I've been trying to move them to my wallet and all I get is a response saying they aren't active yet. If I remember correctly I was able to do it last year much earlier than this.

I was in touch with Taylor from the ticket office since I bought some extras for the home opener. He mentioned that they should be activated sometime this week. If they aren't activated by later in the week I'll bother him again.

Concur. I hate using my phone for this. Downloading another piece of phone spyware masquerading as a helpful app is not a good idea. It just adds more attack surface for malicious actors to exploit, and it collects more of your information than you think. I reluctantly go to the website and log in to get my tix to appear on my phone screen. I miss paper tix. The least they could do is allow you to print your own. Bah humbug.

I have to think that the decision to go digital with tickets was probably made more by Ticketmaster or the management of the building. Honestly, in 2022 this shouldn't be a big deal, and if you need a paper ticket, I think they do give you an out to get it printed at the box office. I'm also sure if you spoke to a ticket rep and explained your situation, they'd be happy to help out as needed. I get that not everyone has a smartphone or is tech savvy, so I'm sure they would help in someway shape or form. Plenty of places use digital ticketing.

That said, yeah downloading another app is a pain, but I highly doubt that malicious actors are looking to exploit your information from the Mason Patriots app. More than likely they have the information that the app has collected (credit card, home address) from some other breach.

The last email that I got about season tickets mentioned that you could request paper tickets for an additional fee ($10, as I remember), but you had to call the ticket office to do so. I did, spoke to James and paid by credit card over the phone. James said that they would be sent out in late October.

Prefer paper tickets as well. But seems more and more teams and sports are going the digital route these days. Mason already made the change and invested in the app so there's no turning back.

It's a shame they've stubbornly continued to not issue paper tickets.
Yes!! Last year my brother and I drove from Richmond for the vcu game and almost didn't get in due to some sort of phone "glitch," even though every time I checked up to that point the tics always popped up. And I had had the tics for 3 months. But THEN, THAT day, nope, nothing. Nada. They had my money, but no cigar. Got sent to window after window and finally a loooong line.
Heck, I'm old enough to be their grandfather, and have been going to games since 1975!! You better believe I was POed!!!

I had a similar experience a few times last year. Although I was worried each time about getting to my seat by opening tip, I always made it in time. But it did add unneeded anxiety for every game wondering if the ticket would "disappear" when I arrived at Eagle Bank. I will say they got more efficient at processing the people in line later in the season.

Nevertheless, I would recommend talking to the Ticket Office people and taking them up on the offer to provide paper tickets.

Sounds like you've been going to Mason games almost as long as I have! Do you remember when Burger King nerf disks were given out at the door in the old PE building to be traded for 2 for 1 Whoppers at the local BK in Fairfax for attending the games?! Or the time in the old PE building when the JMU band showed up and took over the gym (long before Mason had a pep band).

Can't say as I do, but I do remember almost getting thrown out because I was annoying the JMU coach so much he complained to the refs. Can't remember his name. But it was easy to do when the players on the court outnumbered the fans on the risers. He could hear every word I said.
I still have some old game programs. One that I remember (they were all run off on copy machines on 8 1/2 × 11 paper in black and white and just folded in half) that has Herb Estes on the front.
And thanks, it's worth the extra $10 to relieve my anxiety.

I prefer the digital tickets and the easy accessibility of having my four tickets on my phone. The one downside is when I bring friends or colleagues to games who aren’t familiar with where my seats are if we get separated, because the tickets are on my phone.

I’m sure i could print them out and give every person one, but that defeats the purpose of having digital tickets. I’m sure I could also transfer the tickets electronically to each person, but that seems like unnecessary steps when we’re all at the game together.
