They made vcu homecoming—ballsy. Lots of sad girlfriends because VD is Monday so Saturday is the big date night no doubt.

Nice to see the school trying to get this going again. It looks like it'll be nice weather for Mason Madness and hopefully folks participate in the festivities. The one thing I would love to see is not only tailgating but a tradition of some sort of pregame gatherings, sorta like what is done for Homecoming. Maybe add food trucks as well. For now, hopefully this gets off the ground and weather is good.

Totally down for playing vcu near Valentine’s Day and hopefully the same result. The best Valentine’s Day I’ve had with my wife was definitely the buzzer beater.

I highly encourage anyone who can to come to the tailgate this Saturday to do so. The weather prediction so far looks like it is going to cooperate.

I met the two guys that are behind trying to get this going again, Doug and Dave, at the tailgate on 11/12. I had a great time hanging out with them. They brought food, drinks and games (corn hole) and shared with everyone. They are great guys that are just trying to establish a true tailgating culture at Mason. My understanding is that as long as people don't get out of hand and drinking isn't advertised (keep your beverages in a red cup and don't fall down drunk) that the police will not be involved. This is pretty much how other universities handle tailgating.

I hope you can come support this effort (and have a good time) this Saturday, 12/4/2021 from 3:00 - 6:30

If the registration fee is an issue, I'll be glad to reimburse you the $10. You have to come to the tailgate and see me there to collect your reimbursement.

Glad you posted this I had completely forgotten. Trying to snag some extra tickets for some friends, but tailgating could be a good time.

Reservation made weeks ago.The organizers lowered the price by half to $10 for one vehicle and two parking spaces. Very reasonable. And if @gmubrian is paying then you have no excuse to stake a claim and set down your grill.

Tailgating was sparse two seasons ago, but seemed to grow as the season progressed. Let's see if more Mason fans will pony-up and party down.

Does the University promote this at all or do they not want anything to do with it? I had no idea this was a thing (outside of Homecoming).

Seems like extremely low hanging fruit in terms of an easy way to get students motivated to come out.

I hope they are promoting it on campus as well with signs and such -- I doubt that most of the students follow MBB on Twitter or FB.

Don’t forget to come to the tailgate today. It looks to be a beautiful day! I have some extra burgers, dogs and snacks, while they last. I even brought a lighter this time to start the grill!

PS. If you are looking for me, I’ll be in a burgundy Ram truck. I might not be there till 3:45-4:00 as I was convinced to put my car in the Middleburg Christmas parade today.

For anyone who’s local, I encourage you guys to check this out. There was maybe 50-75 people total folks tailgating yesterday in the nice weather but it was a nice thing to do. I had a good time and it was nice to meet @gmubrian in person.

I've been tailgating since they started this thing. The first official tailgate a couple of season ago was all of three cars. Last night there were 30! (mmmm... OK, more likely 21 cars... rounding error).

Still room for more, folks—roll 'em in!!
