Yea you are definitely biased. Mason is not the best destination for all of his goals and aspirations for his senior season lol hopefully teams like butler and auburn sign somebody else first and his hand gets forced

I wasn't on the boards in those days, but I can imagine this is what people said about Luke Hancock.

Comparing the respective rosters at this moment, even a Paulsen hater like yourself can’t honestly say Butler’s is better than Mason’s.

If he winds up going to Auburn, good luck dealing with the scumbag Bruce Pearl. I’d wear a Haz-Mat suit to avoid getting slime on my clothes.

But hey, some people are into brand names. I’m not.

There was no pandemic when Hancock transferred to Louisville and he got a sit-out year to acclimate. Other than that it’s a perfect comparison.

True. But as far as staying where he knows versus someplace new to fit in and thinking he'd have a bigger, better role here than at Louisville.

You also forgot that he would be playing for a new coach in Hewitt here. Hah, just making your case for you.

Hancock also had a close prior relationship with Kevin Keatts, who coached him at Hargrave. Keatts was the one who lobbied Pitino to take him.

Even then, he was stuck mostly in the role of spot-up shooter at Louisville until he went bananas at the Final Four and won MOP.

It was honestly pretty frustrating watching their games before that NCAA tournament because they hardly used Luke, where he orchestrated the offense and had the ball in his hands all the time at Mason.

You're right about that. I would watch on occasion to see how he was doing and would always end up frustrated . . . till that tournament run.

I guess my point was that it ended up being the right move for Hancock, despite the fact that he had to accept a smaller role at a P5 school. He was afforded opportunities both while playing and after that he would never have had here.

If Hancock stayed, he would be among our all time greats. He may have even done enough to buy Hewitt another year or two.

Hancock took a risk transferring up and it paid off for him. It absolutely sucked for Mason basketball.

Despite it not being a perfect parallel, I could see Kier choosing to take a similar risk. The opportunity cost of staying at Mason seems rather high.

I’m going to log off masonhoops I think. This is one of the worst takes ever on here. They have a future all American point guard on their team currently

I definitely think Kier can be an impact player in a P6 league. I’m a huge fan of his game and character.

My comment was solely about the complication of trying to pick a destination where he can thrive without having an opportunity to even play a few pickup games with his new would-be teammates.

As was mentioned, coaches lie their asses off. They’re going to tell him what he wants to hear, but he’s gonna have to blend with a new group of guys with very little lead time before next season starts (if it does).

Even some of their own fans don’t think they’re going to be very good, based on posts I read. Some of them sounded a lot like you.

Under normal circumstances this is the sort of self-serving BS fans comfort ourselves with, but these are not normal circumstances. Transfers don't even know when they'll be able to get to campus! This corona thing isn't slowing down anytime soon and it's very unlikely any transfer gets ample practice time with a new squad. Situation is primed for grad transfers to be an absolute disaster this season.

Not good for big East and not good for A10 are 100% different things.

Hope he stays. Be thrilled if he does - not getting my hopes up though. Very glad AJ and Boyd are back, it'd be nice to have our best guard back though.

This is from Boston University: " "The Recovery Plan recognizes that if, in the unlikely event that public health officials deem it unsafe to open in the fall of 2020, then the University's contingency plan envisions the need to consider a later in-person return, perhaps in January 2021."

Most universities have already canceled all summer classes/activities.

Nothing wrong with anything Jim posted.

It's smart for Kier, as he said himself, to seek best options. He has done due diligence via zoom with 2 schools so far. Ain't no way in hell luke Hancock goes to Louisville if coach L is the coach while Pitino shows him strippers via Zoom. Which is why Kier will announce soon he is and always has been a Patriot.

I'd think in most years the top of the A-10 could compete with the top of the Big East. Same with the bottom each league - maybe take Fordham out of the picture. BE has an edge, "100% different" I'm not so sure.
