Ha - definitely buzzwords and graphics. For anyone who spent more than a few minutes looking at what was published - is there anything more than buzzwords and some decent graphics?
In all seriousness, this is a showcase of what Marvin and Dr Washington sees athletics to be at George Mason. It outlines values and goals. A lot of what we have heard like "elevate college athlete experience" or "bring community together through sports" is there, but it goes a bit deeper than that.
Its a nice presentation and something we certainly haven't seen at Mason before. It clearly states athletics is the front door to the university and a sense of pride. I most certainly support that, and hope that this is clearly communicated to students from the first day they walk onto campus, especially the traditional ones.
On the flip-side, a nice website and "plan" is nice. I'd much rather see execution and improvements in these areas especially facilities. Dead horse topic aside, I would like to see them intertwine the topic of honoring the past, hall of fame etc, into the "championship culture".
