"FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn ('06) announced Thursday that Devin Booker will join the Patriot roster, beginning in 2025-26.
A 3-star guard from Philadelphia, Booker attends Cristo Rey Jesuit and is ranked as the No. 6 player in Pennsylvania for the Class of 2025.
'I went to watch Devin late summer and within the first five minutes of my eval I knew he was special,' Skinn said. 'He's a 3 and D player who can really shoot it.
He has the potential to develop into a Jared Billups type player with his competitiveness and athleticism.'
While competing for Cristo Rey last season, Booker was named the Penn-Jersey Athletic Association (PJAA) MVP and also earned a spot on the league's first team. A 1,000-point scorer in high school, he led the CRJ Hornets to the 2024 PJAA title and notched 25 points in the championship game.
The 6-foot-4-inch guard also has competed with K-Low Elite on the adidas 3SSB circuit. He averaged 11.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and shot 47.7 percent on The Circuit over the summer as part of the club.
'Devin has an identity of humble toughness,' Skinn added. 'He's someone you want to go into the trenches with and his foundation is strong. With his ability to make shots and defend, he can develop into an all-conference type player.'"
