Welcome Coach Tony Skinn!

One of the most important conversations is around the 27:00 minute mark in. This woman should be Marvin, the Patriot Club leaders/staff, and Tony's best friend.

Jennifer is President/CEO of the Northern Virginia Tech Council (NVTC) where 500 companies in the region are apart of - big time tech/consulting companies down to start-ups. This woman holds a huge key to getting our AD in front of any of these companies C-level's/decision makers with a simple phone call or email reach out to them, or recommendation from her, to hear us out on what we are trying to build at Mason and discuss our NIL needs and ultimately securing funds. It takes someone a C-Level knows to make an introduction to and Jennifer seems willing to support Tony and our efforts. I hope Marvin prioritizes this relationship and sees how big this can be for our program and school.

On a side note... my company is apart of the NVTC and I met Jennifer for the first time a month ago at an event and will see her this Thursday at another NVTC event at Appian's HQ in Tyson's. She is super nice and seems to be very well put together, professionally and socially. Had no idea she actually went to Mason and is actually on our BOV. And she has a son who played basketball. So she seems to get what we are looking to accomplish and a proponent for the resources we need.

Now I have something to ask her about with Tony and the support.... I'll see what I can gather from her lol.

Definitely talk to her and build a relationship with her. Don't ask for money/NIL on the first conversation. But later down the line, here is a link to donate:

Thanks so much for the heads up on this meeting.

After watching, just wanted to reiterate how fortunate we are to have Tony as the face of the program and the university more broadly. Having covered him as a player, watching him grow into this role and see the way he now handles himself in so many diverse environments as a coach and leader, is incredible. He is a first-class person.

We all know when he gets us back to the dance, somebody is gonna throw life-changing money at him. But what he has done, as a Mason legend, in pulling the university along and through sheer force of will convincing its leadership to step up its competitive commitment, will have positive effects long after he is done coaching.

The infrastructure is finally being put into place to maintain a consistent standard of excellence in basketball at George Mason. As nutso as it is that we’re still talking about this unfinished business 20 years after the Final Four, this really is a case of better late than never.
