Welcome Coach Tony Skinn!

GIVING DAY 2023
We doubled the HC Salary and increased the womens HC salary. However, Mason is severely lacking on the corporate donor side. Which is mind boggling.
Corporate donors want something in return (like suites to wine and dine partners). Mason has nothing to offer except an uncomfortable fold-up chair courtside.

@Jack Strop - would you rather I gnash my teeth considering vcu, Dayton and Saint Louis are out gunning us?
This didn't happen overnight. Mason took a wrong turn when it decided not to build a on its final four run and neglected to plan post Larranaga.

vcu did both by Branding Havoc, establishing the sports leadership programs in early 2000's for assistant coaches and capitalizing on donor to build a state of the art practice facilities.

The end result is they keep winning and get invited to the best MTE's in the nation. Last year was their fourth trip to Atlantis. Next year they go to the Mauii classic for the 2nd time.

The point is none of this happens overnight. Gnashing your teeth isnt going to get you anywhere.

The University is building it's infrastructure; that's step one.

The most important thing the coaching staff can do its keep the two or three most important players from this years roster and upgrade from there.

Patience

Its gotta be NIL too and a big part. School isnt going to pay players more than they can justify to the nerds.

Based on Curran's window Shopping patterns...Masons seems to trending towards the following:

1) A stretch 4 to replace Adebayo.
2) An experience combo guard to replace Long or Hill or both..
3) Possibly a shot blocker.

Nice work! Watching the whole meeting would be too daunting a task for most of us, at least for me.
Thanks!

One of the most important conversations is around the 27:00 minute mark in. This woman should be Marvin, the Patriot Club leaders/staff, and Tony's best friend.

Jennifer is President/CEO of the Northern Virginia Tech Council (NVTC) where 500 companies in the region are apart of - big time tech/consulting companies down to start-ups. This woman holds a huge key to getting our AD in front of any of these companies C-level's/decision makers with a simple phone call or email reach out to them, or recommendation from her, to hear us out on what we are trying to build at Mason and discuss our NIL needs and ultimately securing funds. It takes someone a C-Level knows to make an introduction to and Jennifer seems willing to support Tony and our efforts. I hope Marvin prioritizes this relationship and sees how big this can be for our program and school.

On a side note... my company is apart of the NVTC and I met Jennifer for the first time a month ago at an event and will see her this Thursday at another NVTC event at Appian's HQ in Tyson's. She is super nice and seems to be very well put together, professionally and socially. Had no idea she actually went to Mason and is actually on our BOV. And she has a son who played basketball. So she seems to get what we are looking to accomplish and a proponent for the resources we need.

Now I have something to ask her about with Tony and the support.... I'll see what I can gather from her lol.
