Is this true??!!

No. It’s AI generated.

The only game we know about is the home return game for James Madison.

I don’t think the schedule will look that different but I’d hope to take one more road guarantee game and get a better home-and-home than ECU. This will be in addition to an MTE that may or may not include a P5.

I say target Houston (Ekanem connection) UNC, and a B1G school for the P5s.

Go out west for the home-and-home? Maybe either of the New Mexico schools or Colorado State/Nevada/San Francisco? I’d also take a good MVC school like Drake or Bradley or Northern Iowa (UNI has always been a good game).

What's the MTE and who else is participating?

In college basketball, MTE stands for Multi-Team Event, and it refers to early-season tournaments that feature multiple teams playing each other in a short period. These events are a way for teams to get non-conference games in, build team chemistry, and sometimes, even attract national attention.

Here's a more detailed look at MTEs:
  • Purpose:
MTEs allow teams to play multiple games against a variety of opponents in a concentrated timeframe, which can be advantageous for gaining experience and building momentum early in the season.

  • Location:
MTEs can be held at various locations, including neutral sites, university campuses, and even international destinations like the Bahamas or Hawaii.

    • Teams:
MTEs can feature teams from different conferences, including Power 5 schools and mid-major programs.
    • NCAA Rules:
The NCAA has specific rules governing MTEs, including restrictions on the number of games a team can play in one event and the eligibility of teams to participate.
    • Popularity:
MTEs have become a popular way for college basketball teams to schedule their early non-conference games, and many teams, especially mid-majors, find them to be a valuable way to get exposure and build their program.

Would love it if we used the matchup with Bradley in the NIT to get a home and home there.

Houston is a really interesting one- that would be an awesome game and place to visit.

Tony and Willard are tight of course... as a Pennsylvanian wouldn't mind seeing Villanova on the list...
