No, he’s looking to be featured or flash enough here for a year to earn a Okojie/Hall/Mincy deal. Again, I’m pretty sure this is part of the recruiting pitch at this juncture for Mason.I assume we will have to wait until the big money teams eat. Then hope a few crumbs fall our way.
If Im Pendergrass' agent/parents am I looking to stay at a place that has so little to build around my player? This is madness and unsustainable.

Why is it not sustainable? Tv ratings have never been better. The market is not sustainable. It is literally destroying incentive to even try to compete for anyone outside the top 75-100 programs. And as usual Mason is right on the fringe — not enough resources to really be a player at the top of our league, but enough to at least dream big about catching another March heater.
It’s called no man’s land for a reason lol.
They’re cheaper because you’re paying for what is the worst year of most players’ development curve. And now you can’t afford to keep them beyond the first year if they play well so what’s the point?Obviously Skinn is crushing it, so this idea might be off. But freshmen are generally cheaper than proven players. I’d like to see Mason try a Fab Five–type approach—go get the best freshmen early before they become overpriced.
Need to start treating players like coaches. There needs to be a buyout clause…or some mechanism to recapture part of our investment. It’s the only way developmental schools like Mason can sustain a program. Hit a few diamonds in the rough, shine them up and sell them. Could be a way for Mason to build a sizable war chest and CTS might just be the right kind of coach to execute. They’re cheaper because you’re paying for what is the worst year of most players’ development curve.
