GIVING DAY 2023
Expecting a very tough game. GMU is still playing for a 1 or 2 seed (with a win), while St. Joes is currently in a tie for a #4 seed with Davidson).

St. Joe's lost its 3 time All A-10 player to Louisville - Laura Zieglar - partly over NIL money, and partly over a chance at a NCAA Title. After a rough start she is now their leading scorer. But in some sense her departure has cleared the way for others to step up, and in major ways they have. Gabby Casey is now their leading scorer and rebounder. But unlike last season, they only have 1 other player averaging more than 10 points/game - guard Aleah Snead

Ther conference record is about the same as it was last year at this time - when they entered the A-10 Tourney as the #4 seed.

Of major importance is the 6 pm start time of URI at Richmond. A Richmond win and a GMU win puts us in a tie for first place in conference play. ESPN Analytics have Richmond as a heavy favorite.

GIVING DAY 2023
Is it too much to ask for GW to knock off URI after having beaten Richmond about a week ago? Would be nice to have a shot at the #1 seed in the A10 tournament.
we have A shot at the #1 seed, but I think #2 seed is much more likely
the differences being
#1 plays a #8 seed or #9 seed in the quarterfinals at 11 am
#2 plays a #5 seed or #12 seed or #13 seed in the quarterfinals at 5 pm

the big difference is in the semifinals where there is a drop-off in quality starting at seed #4 giving #1 seed a potentially "easy" game

It would be nice NOT to have to get through BOTH (potentially) Richmond and URI to get to the NCAAs.
