I am constantly wondering about the Athletic Department's basic skill sets.
Over the last 25-30 years I am still questioning why bus trips are not offered or at least interest queried among the fan base for both Men and Women's BBall games.
Within a tolerable bus distance - Richmond, vcu, LaSalle, Temple, Penn, St. Joes, James Madison, Rider, Princeton, Towson, Monmouth, NAVY, UMBC, Fordham, for example.
Maybe Old Dominion, Hampton and Norfolk State and Mount St. Mary's at the limit.
IIRC - there was a bus trip to Maryland a few years ago
If done correctly this is a strategy for neutralizing the home court effects of away games.
By 6 pm the night that the A-10 schedule was released, vcu had listed all games for sale.
I purchased tix for GMU @ vcu and there were at least 500 open seats - including the sections behind the GMU bench and the sections on both sides of the visitor bench available. Imagine if the AD had purchased 3 busloads of seats - appr. 200 - then bundled them with a bus trip to vcu.
Assuming there is a GMU alumni club in that area any unsold tix could have been offered to them.
