If we can get the students and fans in EBA to have this kind of energy and vibe, we will never lose a home game ever

And Tony Skinn would not leave Mason for a P5

I see your Texas Tech and raise you Greek fans:

Now obviously you can’t bring flares into the arena but the spirit you can bring. And they’ve also just brought their football culture indoors here.

I’ll bring up my idea of doing the same thing. Football style supporters section to Mason basketball. Work with these new Maniakson chants and songs. Have something for them to graduate into and grow and take over the whole arena with this energy.

Screw copying other colleges let’s innovate and bring Ultra energy to college basketball (minus the thuggery).

You are correct but we don’t play songs like that nor teach everyone what do.

1st step is to get buts in seats. If we can get to the point where a solid number of students are reliably showing up, THEN we can attempt to do some coordinated cheers.

I think a great way to do it would be to invite the students to a pizza giveaway and pep rally that occurs in the student section prior to a huge home game vs vcu, or a ranked SLU team.

At the pep rally a couple designated crowd leaders can then teach the crowd a few chants/things. Keep it simple.

First game with the maniaks frontline! Created some hype, we stood all game.

Hopefully it only gets better!!!
GiantKiller guys or whomever is down on the baseline snapping photos each game needs to take some pictures of you all so you and others can use to post all over social media and campus.

Go old school and go over to Kinko's and blow them up into posters and post all around campus and dorms.

The progress made since the home opener in November has been ASTOUNDING! I'd say about half of the students were highly engaged (or often enraged—as was I) at times. Midway through the second half I saw many rows of students standing, dancing, and having a HELL of a good time. FANTASTIC IMPROVEMENT!! The paradigm has shifted, people. Build on this momentum.

The DJ (what's his "stage name"?) has been an excellent addition. He got EBA rocking AND rolling. The Maniaks set a good tone.

(...and now for the bring-down, inevitable, gratuitous suggestions...)
1.) Please return "Living on a Prayer" to the Green Machine. As well as the DJ's direction pumps up the fans, the DJ's "Living on a Prayer" feature falls woefully flat. The band does "LOAP" much better.

2.) The Green Machine, the DJ, and cheerleaders/dance team need to each own 33% of the collective hype show and work together. That means, whichever holds the spotlight at the moment the other two elements need to lend support in complimentary coordination For example, if the Green Machine starts a chant then the DJ and cheerleaders should prop it up and lead the students section to follow the band's lead.
(...end of the bring-down, inevitable, gratuitous suggestions...)

Love that the energy is returning to EBA and Mason's student body. Keep up the FANTASTIC work!!!

Oh...and... "This will really help with recruiting!"

The DJ and the gameday host on the mic are really starting to find their footing during stoppages. Not everything they try works, but I feel like they've started to figure it out the past few games and the atmosphere is about to go to another level. Well done, but keep going.

I would love if we would start to show the controversial replays on the big screen. Missed calls, plays under review, etc. I’ve been to other A10 arenas that do it so I don’t buy the against league rules spiel.

Most don’t do it in order to avoid an ugly fan reaction. Which arenas have you seen them?

Dayton, Loyola, and I believe Rhodey if I’m remembering correctly. Also very common across the Big East and ACC games I’ve been too.
