GIVING DAY 2023
I think you already lost most of our student section since they have no idea what a print newspaper is and most likely use a key fob that won't jingle. :ROFLMAO:
Thus why I said "have keys" and "some sort of paper" included not just our antiquated items of newspapers and legitimate car keys lol

GIVING DAY 2023
- bring some sort of newspaper / paper to to put up when the other team is introduced. At the least stand and turn around
-Have keys ready to jingle under a minute when Mason is up by 8 or more, followed by chanting "warm up the bus"
-Bring confetti or something to throw up in the air when Mason hits 3 pointers
-Hands up during Mason free throws followed by the debated GMU WHAT / GMU KNOW
-When the other team throws up an airball, chant "airball"

For the ODU game specifically, when Coach L walks out yell "LARRA NAGA" - many folks will chime in
I will still occasionally bust out the suck on that after 2 made FTs.

Doing a post to inform students about what to do create a better home court advantage. These are some ideas I have so far,
  • Get loud during Mason runs to disrupt the other team’s communication
  • Chant "DEFENSE” with the team
  • Wave hands during opponent free throws
  • Fake shot-clock countdown on the opponent
  • Stand at big moments (wish students would stand the whole game but thats not happening)
  • Erupt after defensive stops
  • Hold up 3 fingers after Mason threes
  • Stay silent for Mason free throws
If there's any more ideas shoot them my way!!!

Watch parties. Why do they keep missing the mark? We have a bunch of places in Fairfax able to host a large crowd, serve food and booze, and… struggle with screen and audio issues??? My God- bar owners in this town are leaving good money on the table by continuing to fail at this. If you own a bar in town, or know someone who does, let me clue you in to a really easy way to pull in thousands of extra dollars every season: look up the Mason schedule, find out which networks will broadcast the away games, buy the subscriptions, TEST your system BEFORE game day, and put the SOUND ON!!! This shouldn’t be that difficult, but apparently it is. No one is doing a good job at this, so if you like money and want more of it, you could get it by doing what I’ve suggested. You could even brand yourself as the Mason spot. Maybe even advertise? I don’t know- I’m probably taking crazy pills. Small business owners must not like money as much as I thought they do.

I love the idea of using the Patriot Center as a way to have watch parties for big road games, but I can't say how practical that would be.
I saw that another school did/does(?) that for away games - they simply drop the center court scoreboard onto the floor.

One time in high school we asked our AD if we could hold our final soccer practice of the season under the lights at like 5am. She said no because it cost like $200 just to flip them on.

Now do that with an arena while also powering a Jumbotron and paying at least a nominal level of staffing.

The Johnson Center is a better spot. Stick up the big screen in the middle. Food and students are already there.
